Strange story: Monta's brother shot, released from hospital

From Janny Hu.

Just came across this AP story, as well as this one from the Clarion-Ledger, the local paper in Jackson, Miss.

From AP: The brother of Golden State Warriors guard Monta Ellis has been released from the hospital after being shot in the back twice over the weekend.

Antwain Ellis, 27, was released Monday afternoon from University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jeffery Scott said.

Ellis was found Sunday afternoon by his mother, who went to his house to check on him.

Not sure what to add to this, other than that Monta -- who presumably had been informed of his brother's shooting -- was at practice in Oakland earlier tonight. He went through drills and was joking around with his teammates as usual.

The Warriors were scheduled to leave for Sacramento right after their late practice, and there was nothing to suggest that Monta wouldn't be on the team bus or making his own way there. Will update if there are rumblings otherwise.
