Found April 30, 2013 on Celtics Life:
One rather unexpected thorn on the Celtics' side during the ongoing playoffs is Knicks guard Raymond Felton, who has been averaging 17.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game in the series - averages which are markedly better than his regular season numbers (13.9 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 5.5 apg and 1.4 spg).  In last Sunday's encounter Felton picked up the slack for the suspended J.R. Smith with a season-best 27 points - torturing the C's with many uncontested drives to the hoop and four big makes from beyond the arc. Having been unsuccessful in their past attempts to slow Felton down, how should Doc Rivers and the C's proceed?  Here's our suggestion: we call it, "The Twinkie Defense." While jokes about Felton's eating habits may have been exaggerated, they are not unfounded.  Recently the Knicks had a "movie night" and posted this image on the team's official Twitter account: Movie night w/ the #Knicks! @carmeloanthon...

Knicks Kenyon Martin Talks Back to Jason Terry

Kenyon Martin has been the heart and soul of the Knicks since his signing. Every team needs a guy with a chip on his shoulder and a nasty attitude. Kenyon Martin has brought that attitude to the New York Knicks. Knicks power forward Kenyon Martin cranked up the trash talk following his team’s 97-90 overtime loss to the Celtics Sunday afternoon. Martin took issue with...

Knicks’ Amar’e Stoudemire expected back for Round 2

New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson recently told reporters that forward Amare Stoudemire would definitely play in the second round of the postseason if he’s able to get healthy. Stoudemire appears set to get back on the court, as a source close to the big man told Ian Begley and Jared Zwerlingof ESPN New York that they believe he will return to action in the second round.Stoudemire...

Knicks-Celtics get into it after Game 5

Tempers flared following the Celtics 92-86 win over the Knicks on Wednesday night as Jordan Crawford, Carmelo Anthony, D.J. White and Raymond Felton exchanged words.  Crawford appeared to trash talk Carmelo Anthony on his way to the locker room which caused a reaction from Felton and White who then had to be restrained by teammates.

Knicks' Kidd wins sportsmanship award

New York Knicks guard Jason Kidd has become the first player to win back-to-back NBA sportsmanship awards. Kidd received 91 first-place votes from league players and 2,474 total points Tuesday to claim the Joe Dumars Trophy in his first season in New York. He won the award last season, his final one in Dallas. Three-time winner Grant Hill is only other player to win the award multiple...

Did Jordan Crawford Take a Shot a Carmelo Anthony’s Wife (Video)

Jordan Crawford had another infamous DNP (Did Not Play, Coaches’ Decision), but he was running his mouth like he was Floyd Mayweather. After the Knicks choked away Game 5, things got a little chippy as the teams left the court. Now either Crawford said “MF F*ck Off or MF F*cked Your Wife”. This is important because of the whole Kevin Garnett Honey Nut Cheerios situation last...

An open letter to J.R. Smith and Kenyon Martin,

Dear J.R. Smith and Kenyon Martin, Thanks guys. Thanks for being complete overconfident, obnoxious idiots. Thanks for saying the stupidest things in the media. Thanks for whatever that did to your team tonight. I want to specifically call out and thank J.R. Smith, the most generous of them all. Smith bemoaned earlier that the Knicks would've won Game 4 if he was not suspended...

Shumpert Not Thinking About Knee As He Gets Closer To Full Strength

Iman Shumpert tore his ACL a year ago and is not all the way back athletically, but he continues to get closer to full strength. Shumpert had 12 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks and two steals in the New York Knicks' 97-90 overtime loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday in Game 4. "I'm not really thinking about my knee," Shumpert said. "We've just got to win...

J.R. Smith: “It Would’ve Been Over If I Played Game 4”

J.R. Smith might be Sixth Man of the Year, but no one has ever said he was a brain surgeon.  His dumb play in game three got him suspended for a game 4 loss where he was dearly missed.  However, on Tuesday, he said possibly the smartest thing he has ever said. Smith talked to reporters at the team’s practice on Tuesday, and said that if he hadn’t been suspended for game 4,...

Overpowered Celtics Still Clinging to Life in Postseason Against Carmelo Anthony’s Knicks

It took them a while — more than 16 quarters to be exact — but the Boston Celtics finally registered their first victory in the opening round of their 2013 postseason campaign. The overtime victory over the New York Knicks hasn’t exactly boosted their NBA odds, but it’s a step in the right direction. Any other direction would’ve been entirely wrong. Down three games to...

Jason Kidd Wins NBA Sportsmanship Award

Jason Kidd has won the 2012-13 NBA Sportsmanship award. Kidd won the award, which is given to a player who demonstrates ethical behavior, fair play and integrity, last season as well. Luol Deng, Stephen Curry, Mike Conley, Nick Collison and Jameer Nelson were also nominated for the award.

J.R. Smith Says Series Would Be Over If He Played Sunday, Doesn’t Know Who Jason Terry Is

J.R. Smith says the Knicks would have swept the Celtics in Boston Sunday if he had not been suspended, and he’d be enjoying a game of golf rather than a day on the practice court preparing to face Boston and Jason Terry, who Smith sarcastically claims to never heard of. According to the NY Post: “Oh yeah, it’d been over,’’ Smith said in his first comments since his one...

Celtics 92 - Knicks 86 game 5 highlights and box score

The New York Knicks arrived wearing all black to Wednesday's playoffs game 5 in order to signify the Boston Celtics' funeral, but the Celtics came out victorious and the series will return to Boston for a game 6 on Friday. Jeff Green was the leading scorer for the Celtics with 18 points (including a pair of clutch 3 pointers in the 4th quarter). 4 other players aside from...

Celtics Blowing 20-Point Lead at Home Puts Damper on Emotion of Game 4 Victory

BOSTON — There was an odd vibe after the buzzer sounded at TD Garden on Sunday, after the Celtics had outlasted the Knicks in overtime to postpone playoff elimination. Both teams were upbeat and hopeful, which is seldom the case after a hard-fought playoff game. At the podium, Raymond Felton sat confidently saying how much he looks forward to Wednesday’s Game 5 in New York. In...
