Life is Just a Fantasy ... Basketball...:
Al Horford's sore hamstring must be better. The Atlanta Hawks big man played a team-high 51 minutes in a win Friday over the Boston Celtics.
The former Florida Gator scored 24 points (7-15 FG, 10-11 FT), grabbed 13 rebounds, dished three assists and snagged two steals. Play him now.
Kyle Korver made eight shots -- all of them 3-pointers -- for a team-high 27 points to go with six rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. He's owned in 54 percent of leagues, and that will likely go up after tonight.
Ivan Johnson stuck in the starting lineup but played just 18 minutes and grabbed only one rebound (11 points and an assist). Zaza Pachulia returned from a sore Achilles and played 11 minutes (two points, three rebounds and an assist).
Devin Harris was also back and came off the bench for 14 points, two 3-pointers, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in 38 minutes. Harris had been playing well before the injury and is worth a look.

Josh Smith says he expected not to make the All-Star team after getting his hopes up last year. He is however, devastated, that none of his teammates made the team and 2 non-playoff bound players (Jrue Holiday and Kyrie Irving) did:
Q. What do you think about the fact that there are no Hawks on the team?
A. Now that is a devastation. To have two people … that probably aren’t...
ATLANTA (AP) -- Kyle Korver scored 27 points and the Atlanta Hawks overcame a 27-point deficit in the first half to beat Boston 123-111 in double-overtime on Friday night, handing the Celtics their sixth straight loss.
Jeff Teague had 23 points for Atlanta before fouling out in the first overtime. Al Horford had 24 points and 13 rebounds. Josh Smith, who opened the second overtime...
Much has been made of Josh Smith being a free agent after this season and whether the Atlanta Hawks will trade him before the deadline. The Los Angeles Lakers have been a popular ending point for Smith, as the team clearly needs to infuse some athleticism into their roster.
It’s unsure what kind of contract Smith will yield on the open market, as someone who can look like the best...

ATLANTA -- The Boston Celtics rammed it down the throats of the Atlanta Hawks in the first quarter Friday night at Philips Arena, but the Hawks reeled off a 31-point third quarter, and Kyle Korver hit five fourth-quarter 3-point shots as the Hawks won 123-111 in double overtime. The Celtics have lost six straight games. Korver, who had only three points on free throws in the...
8 a.m. ET: Maybe Josh Smith can give his old high school teammate some pointers on getting through a rough stretch of losses. Smith and the Hawks are 5-8 in January, although they have won their last two by taking care of two sub-.500 clubs. As you might have noticed, that is exactly what the Celtics are at the moment.
Rondo’s triple-double was not enough Thursday to prevent the...
Well, that wasn't fun. It's becoming clear that the bench is finally coming around but now the starters are slumping. The second unit gave us that big lead in the second quarter and then it went away when the starters came back in. But there's progress. We at least got one great half of basketball. One thing that always strikes me is all the complaints...

Kevin Garnett: 24 Points, 10 Rebounds
Kevin Garnett gave us a great performance tonight, and it was unfortunately wasted. He rebounded well, shot well, and was only slowed down by fouls/minutes. He got gassed at the end, and his last two fouls were stupid...
