Back in November I explained how among the many amazing things Jeremy Lin did last year, the greatest of them all was giving us the gift of knowing how many “dead” Yahoo! fantasy basketball leagues existed. Here’s how we knew, before Jeremy Lin became Jeremy Lin he was around 1% owned. After Jeremy Lin became Jeremy Lin his ownership shot up to 92%. 92% was his peak ownership last year and that was his ownership in November, 2012. Using my incredible detective and deductive reasoning skills, circumstantial evidence and what not, I surmised that Jeremy Lin was playing so well and became so famous that he would have been added in at least 99% of all leagues that were active. I gave a 1% cushion figuring that maybe he wasn’t grabbed in those highly enjoyable 4 and 6 team leagues. Sooo, 92% was really 99% and add that 1% for super shallow leagues and whallah!, you can reasonably assume that 93% of all Yahoo! leagues were active and 7% were dead. How cool is that?? Other young players li...

MINNEAPOLIS The Timberwolves will be without Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio for Saturday night's game against the Trail Blazers. Love is sidelined with the sprained finger in his right hand that he sustained in the third quarter of Thursday's game, and Rubio has still not recovered from the back spasms that caused him to miss the past three games.Rubio was present at shootaround...
The season from hell continues for Kevin Love, but Thursday night didn't end quite as badly as did the power forward's last trip to Denver, when he suffered a concussion that ended his 2011-12 season.Love left Thursday's 101-97 win with a sprained finger on his right hand with 4:15 remaining in the third quarter. At the time, his team was down, 66-55, and he had logged...
MINNEAPOLIS As the clock ticked to zero on the Timberwolves' 111-107 win over Phoenix on Sunday, Kevin Love walked to the sideline and enveloped Shawn Respert in a hug.
This wasn't just an "oh, hey, we won, let's hug" sort of embrace. That's hardly Love's style. It was a pointed move after the power forward finished the night with 23 points and 18...
Minnesota Timberwolves Kevin Love is an all-star, an Olympian, a walk double-double, and possibly the leagues best rebounder. Love definitely continues to receives criticism and has a handful of skeptics and critics who don’t see a max value player in that body. People never question or insinuate that Love is not good, which is exactly [...]

MINNEAPOLIS There are no simple mathematics to missing Kevin Love.
On Saturday, the Timberwolves lost by five points, 102-97, to the Trail Blazers. Love is good for those five points, easy. He's good for an average of 18 this season, 30 or more when he's on. But that comes at the expense, perhaps, of Derrick Williams' 18 fourth-quarter points Saturday, of Dante Cunningham...
When Lazar Hayward was growing up, he says he would “see some things,” but when he described them to his friends, their reaction was predictable.
“Lazar, you might need some help.”
The Minnesota Timberwolves forward has not let their skepticism dissuade him from trying to keep seeing those things — “spiritual things,” in his words — and while he was unsigned earlier...
Things are not going terribly well for Kevin Love so far this season.
He missed the beginning of the season with a fractured right hand, and recently returned to play in 18 games for the Timberwolves. Now, it looks like he will have to miss some additional time, as he fractured his right hand once again. Via Real GM:

Kevin Love is hurt again, but the Minnesota Timberwolves withstood his latest injury their last time out.
Having him available against the Portland Trail Blazers hasn't mattered much.
With Love's status unclear, the Timberwolves will try to beat their Northwest Division rivals for just the third time in over five years Saturday night.

DENVER (AP) -- Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has left Minnesota's game against the Denver Nuggets after spraining a finger on his right hand in the third quarter.
His return Thursday night was questionable.
Love was sliding past a Nuggets player in the lane when he suddenly clutched at his hand and headed into the training room. Love had 12 points and 17 rebounds before departing...
So yeah, anyone who wasn’t sure if the Minnesota Timberwolves were cursed when Ricky Rubio decided to stay in Spain, injured his knee last season when leading something of an offensive revival for a fiesty T-wolves squad, or when lynchpin forward Kevin Love fractured his shooting hand in October which put him out for all but 18 games of this season can now be assured that the...
Every morning, we will give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day.

It seems like you cannot say Minnesota without thinking of injuries. There were the various injuries to Kevin Love at the beginning of the year, including a broken hand. There was Brandon Roy coming out of retirement and then possibly going back into retirement...
