Knuckle Curve:
Amare Stoudemire is a walking injury concern. Just a couple games into this shortened season, Amare Stoudemire has sprained his left ankle. The injury took place during the New York Knicks game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night.
Officially, Amare Stoudemire is listed as day to day.
“It’s wrapped up,” said Amare Stoudemire after the game. “I’ll get some treatment on it tomorrow, get another assessment on it tomorrow and see how it feels.”
So far this season, Amare Stoudemire is off to a slow start. He’s averaging just 17.3 points and 6.0 rebounds in 35 minutes per game, while shooting 40.5% from the field.
The Knicks, who entered the season with high expectations, are just 1-2. On Saturday, the Knicks host the Sacramento Kings and will hope that Amare Stoudemire’s injured ankle will be healthy enough to allow him to play.
