New York Knicks power forward Amar'e Stoudemire, who hasn't played all season as he returns from a surgically repaired left knee, will not play Sunday, but will join the team for next week's road trip.
"We did talk this morning in great detail, but nothing has been defined yet in terms of when he's going to return," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said after Saturday's practice. "It's still kind of like day to day until he's comfortable and ready to go, and he's not there yet."
Woodson said Stoudemire joining the team for their road trip beginning Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers is more about the players sticking together for the holidays.
"At this point, right now, we're still trying to hash out when he's ready to play," he said, "and he's not ready yet."
Woodson added: "We've got some practice time coming our way," he said. "January should be a little bit better for us, in...

Carmelo Anthony and Company Rally Knicks Over Timberwolves
Last season, the Knicks struggled with their consistency (or lack there of) virtually all season long. Though they teased fans with fun and exciting victories over some of the league's various powerhouses, New York simply couldn't prove steady enough to put away the weaker ones on a nightly basis. But that was the Knicks of old. The Knicks of old not only lacked a killer instinct...
Tyson Chandler has random object shoot-out with Jimmy Fallon (Video)
New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler was a guest on Thursday night's episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Chandler was challenged by Fallon to a free throw contest, but instead of using a basketball, the shootout featured several holiday themed objects, including a fruitcake, ornaments, and a stocking stuffed with coal.
Not only did Chandler win the contest, but he got...
Bulls leave Knicks frustrated, ejected at Garden
NEW YORK -- Carmelo Anthony already had been ejected with his second technical foul about midway through the fourth quarter when the Knicks star forward prepared to walk toward a hallway outside the team's locker room. That's when he saw his coach, Mike Woodson, making his own exit from the court. The pair would soon be joined by center Tyson Chandler, who was ejected along...
Joakim Noah And Tyson Chandler Get Ejected
The battle of the top East centers was cut short Friday night when Joakim Noah of the Bulls and Tyson Chandler of the Knicks were both ejected from the game. Bulls-Knicks Preview
The New York Knicks seemed to miss Carmelo Anthony against the Chicago Bulls earlier this month.
They'll have him on the court Friday night when they attempt to improve the best home record in the NBA against Joakim Noah and the stingy Bulls.
A lacerated finger on his left hand forced Anthony to miss New York's 93-85 loss at Chicago on Dec. 8. Without the superstar forward...
Nash, Stoudemire could clash on Christmas
Steve Nash is back in the Los Angeles Lakers' lineup after seven weeks on the sideline, and he might see an old friend on the floor for the first time this season against the Knicks on Christmas Day. Forward Amare Stoudemire returned to practice last week. Coach Mike Woodson wasn't ready to declare Stoudemire ready to start, but the All-Star might be able to come back from...
Wolves downed by rallying Knicks
NEW YORK (AP) -- Blame the Christmas carols.
In a "Bah humbug!" moment, Carmelo Anthony jokingly suggested the halftime music messed up the mood, offering that among a couple of reasons for the Knicks' slow start Sunday.
He made sure no excuses were needed at the end.
Anthony scored 19 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter, rallying New York to a 94-91 victory over...
Knicks: Rebound Against Timberwolves for a Change
No, the New York Knicks didn’t rebound well against the Minnesota Timberwolves and that won’t change. The Knicks are atrocious as a team in that category.
Tell you something you don’t know, right?

Carmelo Anthony shot an abysmal 3...
Knicks 94, Timberwolves 91
NEW YORK -- After a lackluster start, Carmelo Anthony turned it on in the final minutes and so did the New York Knicks, who squeezed out a 94-91 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. Anthony, cold from the floor for most of the game and down to his last foul with 3:04 left in the game, finished with 33 points, scoring the Knicks' last 12...
Are The Knicks A Soft Team?
The Knicks were thoroughly beaten despite the final score by the Chicago Bulls a few nights ago for the second time this season. Of the Knicks seven losses this season, you can argue that four have come at the hands of teams that play a very physical style of play.
The first sign that a physical team could be the Knicks’ kryptonite was the 105-95 loss at Memphis, when Carmelo...

New York Knicks Looking to Avenge Loss to Chicago Bulls
Controlling the best record in the Eastern Conference with a 19-6 record, the New York Knicks do not currently have many losses to avenge, but they will be trying to do just that on Friday as they take on the Chicago Bulls at Madison Square Garden.
