With the injury to Nenad Krstic and the unclear return date of Shaq, this is an opportune time for Troy Murphy to return to the line-up for the in-need-of-frontcourt-players Celtics. Troy has been out of the lineup since spraining his ankle in practice on or about March 24th. He has been slated to return in “early April”, and now would be as good a time as any to consider it “early April”. He certainly won’t be 100% since the injury, but I don’t think Doc is asking for much from the 6’11″ forward/center out of Notre Dame. I’m not trying to be un-empathetic for Murphy’s ankle condition, but this may be an instance where “tape it up and get on the floor” has application. Adding another week or two to his recovery would only serve to move him further down the end of the bench as Shaq returns, further distancing himself from the chance to demonstrate an ability to contribute to the team.
