Despite not playing all season, Andrew Bynum says he will step on the court at some point.credit: usatoday.com It’s been a rollercoaster ride for Andrew Bynum in the NBA. Many would claim that his enormous potential has yet to be tapped, due to injuries and off the court issues. He’s probably the one center in the league who can at least be mentioned in the same breath as Dwight Howard. The 76ers traded Andre Iguodala to acquire Bynum in hopes that they had a franchise cornerstone for years to come, although he has not signed an extension to stay with Philadelphia past this season. He has yet to play a game so far this year due to knee problems, but the young big man believes that he will play this season. Via Yahoo: Yet to even practice this season, the injured All-Star vowed to return from the bone bruises that have sidelined him. ”I’m confident I’ll be on the court this season,” he said Friday night. When? Well, no one from Bynum to his doctor seem to know, even after an encouraging exam Thursday that will let the 7-foot center being a six-step rehabilitation process. Bynum can start low-impact exercises like riding a stationary bike as the first step of his rehab. Unfortunately for the 76ers, it’s starting to look like the trade could end up being a disastrous one. A scenario where Bynum only plays a handful of games this season, or not at all, and then bolts in free agency is not out of the question at all. This would put the 76ers right back at square one, minus Andre Iguodala. We’ll see if Bynum proves to be right, but it looks very questionable right now. -Mark Evans, Assistant Manager/Editor of Content Follow us on Twitter The post Andrew Bynum Says He Will Play This Season appeared first on Pass The Pill.
