Anthony Carter, likely the team's third-stringer, said Wednesday he re-signed with the Nuggets, giving them their top three point guards back. Carter said it's a one-year minimum deal worth $1.352 million.
"I feel really good about it,'' said the unrestricted free agent in an interview with FanHouse. "I'm looking forward to getting back with Coach (George) Karl (who missed the last 1 1/2 months of last season due to a form of throat cancer). He knows I belong in this league.''
Carter has been with Denver since April 2005. While Chauncey Billups is the starter and Ty Lawson is the most likely second-stringer, Carter believes the two spots after Billups could change at times.
"It could be just whoever is playing well,'' Carter said. "I've just got to stay ready.''
