Anthony Davis is certainly one of the thinner big men around the NBA.credit: http://sports.yahoo.com Rookie Anthony Davis is having a pretty solid season for the New Orleans Hornets after being selected with the number one overall pick. The former Kentucky Wildcat is averaging 13.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game in 28.6 minutes of action. He hasn’t been terribly flashy, but he has been more or less what people had expected. One concern about Anthony Davis is his weight. He was very thin coming into the league, and still is. For a big man, many felt he would have to bulk up a little to handle the physicality of the NBA. So, he has decided to take the advice and bulk up a little. One way he’s doing so? Pizza. And a lot of it. Via Marc Spears: New Orleans offers some of the world’s most renowned restaurants like Emeril’s, Commander’s Palace and Herbsaint. So what dish has Hornets rookie Anthony Davis fallen in love with since arriving to the Crescent City? Pizza. Specifically from the city’s Reginelli’s Pizzeria chain restaurant, where his pie of choice is a large with double pepperoni and double sausage. “He eats pizza, man. It’s like if anyone says, ‘P … I’ and then, ‘Pizza,’ he perks up,” Hornets coach Monty Williams said. “This dude has this fascination with pizza. It’s unreal.” Despite the calories and carbohydrates acquired with each meat lover’s slice, Davis, a slender 6-foot-11, 220-pounder, has not gained much weight since being drafted No. 1 overall last year. Davis says his high metabolism is keeping him from picking up pounds. There are certainly worse habits than eating a bunch of pizza, I suppose. If he can pair it with a little extra time in the weight room to convert it into muscle, I’m sure the Hornets won’t have any problems. Of course, Anthony Davis has to be careful not to put on a ton of weight. There is a fine line between adding a little muscle and becoming big to the point where you can’t play in the manner that you’re accustomed to. -Mark Evans, Assistant Manager/Editor of Content Follow us on Twitter The post Anthony Davis Bulking Up On Pizza appeared first on Pass The Pill - Kings of Hoops.

Anthony Davis Eating Pizza to Bulk Up

One of the main concerns when entering the NBA Draft a year ago for Anthony Davis, was his slender frame. The #1 overall pick of the New Orleans Hornets measured at 6’11, but only 220 pounds. Making many wonder whether the young center would be able to handle the physicality of the NBA. For the most part, Davis has done well in his first season. And it appears that bulking...

Anthony Davis Is Obsessed With Pizza

A slice of unibrow, please. It’s a known fact that NBA players love pizza, I mean, really, who doesn’t. Seriously, if you don’t like pizza, we can’t ever be friends. Ever. Some NBA players, even eat pizza right before games as their pre-game meal, not the healthiest thing to do, but it didn’t stop one guy from dropping 81 points on the Raptors. New Orleans Hornets’ rookie...
