We are just a few weeks into the NBA season, but there are already several trends forming around the league. At the top of the fantasy basketball rankings are the usual names of Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul and Kevin Love. However, one surprise early on has been the all-around play of super sophomore Anthony Davis. With several impressive stat lines already to his name, can the big man from New Orleans become a consistent, elite fantasy basketball option for years to come? After one super season at Kentucky, the New Orleans Hornets (now known as the Pelicans) took Davis #1 overall. He was an efficient player a season ago, but a number of injuries kept him off the floor. Damian Lillard would win the Rookie of the Year award, but many general managers were still highest on Davis. The Pelicans did more than get a name change this offseason, as they brought in Jrue Holliday, Tyreke Evans and a few other pieces to improve their roster. While that hasn’t paid off as far as wins and losses are concerned, it has allowed Davis to be outstanding in fantasy basketball. Currently, Davis is averaging 20.9 points, 11 rebounds, 3.6 blocks and 2.1 steals per contest. His unique contributions on the floor make him one of the most valuable players in fantasy basketball right now. He is not playing out of his mind either. In fact, his average in both points and rebounds should go up as he continually gets stronger and smarter in a NBA setting. Each ranking system is different, but he is pretty much unanimously a top five fantasy option right now in basketball. With this type of production, he is a first-round pick for years to come. The All-Star game is coming to New Orleans, and as long as he is healthy, expect him to earn a spot and suit up for the West. It is only his second season, but Davis is already on track to becoming a superstar.   The post Anthony Davis Joining Elite Company In Fantasy Basketball appeared first on Punch Drunk Fantasy Sports.
