You knew punishment was coming. Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

It’s been an intense couple of days for the Houston Rockets, to say the least.

Following Monday night’s heated contest against the Los Angeles Clippers, we knew discipline was on its way. And on Wednesday afternoon, two Rockets would get just that. But perhaps the most interesting part are the players who went unscathed. Per Adrian Wojnarowski:

Sources. The NBA is suspending Houston’s Trevor Ariza and Gerald Green two games for aggressively entering Clippers locker room. No penalties for Chris Paul and James Harden.

Then again, other reports would indicate that both Paul and Harden were only trying to play peacekeeper. But it doesn’t stop there. In fact, Ariza himself denies being the ringleader of this chaos:

The only problem that I have is all the buzz (the media) created. You guys had a lot of different stories about what happened, none of which were true. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. The people that were there know exactly what happened.

Then again, what is he going to say? His suspension is more or less final. We assume that an appeal would drop it to just one game, but still. However, Ariza isn’t backing down.

Half of those players in that locker room were on our team last year. I’m pretty friendly with everybody that I know.

But this time, it appears as though Ariza wasn’t friendly enough. The Houston Rockets visit the Clippers again on February 28. Buckle up, basketball fans.
