Bradley was diagnosed with a sore rotator cuff during the first round series with the Hawks and attempted to play with pain. But early in the third quarter of Game 4 last Friday in Philadelphia, his shoulder popped out of place. He missed Games 5 and 6 before the decision was made to have surgery on Friday. Avery Bradley had surgery on both shoulders; also, a (relatively) brief recap of his season

With Avery Bradley’s season likely over, reportedly, Celtics quite vulnerable

This had been shaping up to be the year the Boston Celtics were finally unbothered by injury. But Avery Bradley’s shoulder popped out of its socket once too many times, he might undergo surgery any day now, and the Celtics suddenly rest one loss away from a possible end to the Big Three era, or one win away from Ray Allen and his damning bone spurs defending Dwyane Wade for 30...

Avery Bradley Left Off NBA All-Defensive First, Second Teams, Gets Only Three Votes

PHILADELPHIA -- All you really need to know about the legitimacy of the NBA All-Defensive Team was apparent on Wednesday, when the rosters were announced with Avery Bradley receiving three measly votes. Bradley, the Celtics' resident ball-stopper and one of the staunchest perimeter defenders in the NBA, received one first-team vote but was named to neither the first nor the second...

Celtics Look to Recapture the Paint in Game 7

After another game in the mud, the Celtics come into game seven looking to run early. In a slow and painful game six, Boston struggled to get transition opportunities and fortify the post, succumbing to numerous guard isolations on the weak side by the likes of Jrue Holiday and Evan Turner. With Avery Bradley out [...]

Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen Must Carry Celtics in Absence of Avery Bradley (Video)

Rajon Rondo didn't show off his best stuff in Game 6 on Wednesday night. The All-Star point guard looked a bit lost at times and was a big reason why the Celtics offense never truly found their groove. With backcourt mate Avery Bradley now done for the postseason, after having season-ending shoulder surgery on Friday, Rondo and teammate Ray Allen will be relied upon more than...

Video: Rondo's killer 3

After the game, Doc Rivers said he thought Rondo was a good shooter when he catches the ball in rythm.  He also said you could tell Rondo wanted this shot.   The kid showed some big-time sack in taking that shot.  And check out Pierce's reaction.... This team kills me sometimes.  I feel like I need a defibrillator to watch some of their games.  But goddammit...

Avery Bradley definitely needs shoulder surgery, perhaps ‘very soon’

Sources: Avery Bradley will definitely need left shoulder surgery, and it may come very soon. "Doubtful" he plays again this postseason.16 minutes ago via webReplyRetweetFavorite@SteveBHoopSteve BulpettObviously, this is not good for Boston’s chances. More to come tomorrow on Bradley’s injury, I assume. For now, here’s what Doc Rivers had to say:Rivers is uncertain...

Celtics Can’t Finish Off Philly, Play Game Seven on Saturday

In as frustrating and disappointing a performance as we’ve seen in some time, the Celtics just could not get things going last night in game six and lost to the 76ers 82-75. I can be reactionary at times, but I don’t think I’m doing that when I am concerned, not about the Eastern Conference Finals, but about game seven on Saturday night. The Sixers have played the Celtics very...

It´s Sasha time

“I told him in our exit meetings that his talent is in him, it’s all between his ears. I think he can be a really good player. He’s still relatively young and so we’re going to try to get him out of him.” Doc Rivers Facing a potential elimination against the Sixers may not be the most indicated moment to experiment with the lineups, but Doc Rivers may be forced to do...

Ray Allen felt a better rhythm in Game 6

Think back to the Oklahoma City Thunder defeat right before the All-Star break. A team-building game, Doc Rivers called it. There’s no such thing as a team-building 15-point loss, the crowd shouted back at him. Not for these Boston Celtics.Flash forward to Game 6. A rhythm-builder, Ray Allen called it. There’s no such thing as a rhythm-building 4-for-11 from the field, including...

Rajon Rondo Hits Wall at Worst Time for Celtics, Who Need of Guard to Step Up

PHILADELPHIA -- Like a dad handing over the car keys to his son on prom night, Celtics coach Doc Rivers placed his team's fate in Rajon Rondo's hands on Wednesday. It was time to trust the point guard. Instead of triumphantly justifying Rivers' decision, however, Rondo ground the gears, spilled soda on the upholstery and returned the family sedan with a big scratch on...
