Found December 10, 2012 on Razzball Basketball:
Mike D’Antoni is basically the only coach I ever talk about, and it’s partly because of the mustache, partly because of his offensive style. Chris Duhon has become revitalized under his old coach’s system. Last night, he shot for 12 points with 11 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 of 5 from downtown. His assists have doubled with the new coach, and while Steve Nash remains sidelined (more on him this afternoon), his minutes should remain healthy. He never saw more 3PG or APG than he did under D’Antoni on the Knicks. This won’t last forever (because Nash will eventually return), but you can ride him while he’s hot and then dump him when he’s not, i.e. the proper way to date women. Linas Kleiza – Got the start and proved himself with 17 points, including 5 of 6 from downtown, 3 boards, 2 assists, a steal and a block. Kleiza’s number 1 fan already has a compilation video up from yesterday’s game. Kyle Lowry – Disappointed with 4 points (only 6 shot attempts), but still had 9 assists, 6 rebounds…a

Steve Nash could return for Lakers road-trip

Steve Nash is hoping to return to the Los Angeles Lakers lineup Tuesday in Cleveland.  However, coach Mike D'Antoni told Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times that, “I wouldn’t put my reputation on it. It’s possible." Nash has missed 18 games this season because of a small fracture in his fibula.  D'Antoni said Nash's attitude is more upbeat as he gets closer...

Magic Johnson: 'This is not Laker basketball'

LOS ANGELES Its been said that you expect more from the ones that you loveand theres no doubt that Magic Johnson loves the Lakers. He played for them, coached them and was a team vice president and part owner until he sold his shares in order to partner up with the new Dodger ownership group. And his expectations for the Lakers are equalor even higherthan that of the most rabid...

Gasol to keep starting job, at least initially

Pau Gasol will remain a starter when the tendinitis in his knees subsides to the point that he can play again. For the time being. Subject to change. Lakers Coach Mike D'Antoni said he wanted to see how the power forward and injured point guard Steve Nash play together before making any adjustments to his lineup. "I'm not going to mess with Pau," D'Antoni...

Steve Nash has nerve irritation in left leg

Y! Sports reports that Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash is battling a nerve irritation in his left leg.  That seems to be the main reason why his return to the lineup has been delayed.  Apparently, Nash’s leg fracture has been healed for the past month.  The whole nerve irritation is what has been holding him back.  Nash has been keeping up with his handles and his...

Lakers' Gasol still slowed by sore knees

Lakers starting forward Pau Gasol was not at the team's morning shootaround and will likely miss his fifth straight game with tendinitis in his knees. As Los Angeles began a four-game road trip, coach Mike D'Antoni didn't think Gasol would play against the Cavaliers. D'Antoni would not speculate if Gasol would play on the trip and said his progress will be evaluated...

Steve Nash Out At Least Another Two Weeks

After the loss came more sobering news. Contrary to some speculation, Lakers point guard Steve Nash is unlikely to return to action at any point on the team’s upcoming four-game road trip. “I can’t imagine that,” Nash told USA TODAY Sports. “I would think it will be at least another two weeks. I’m not even running yet.” Nash has missed the last 19 games with a small...

Maybe it's time to give Lakers some time

It will probably take more than a 38-year old point guard with a bum leg to save the Lakers. But Steve Nash should indeed provide some direction once he returns from a fractured fibula, which has forced him to miss all but the first two games. After all, Nash had his very best seasons under Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni when the two were together in Phoenix. Nash is an exceptional...

Familiar theme: Jazz run past slumping Lakers

LOS ANGELES -- When the Los Angeles Lakers lost four of five games to begin the season -- capped off by a defeat against the Utah Jazz in early November -- coach Mike Brown was fired days later. Maybe new coach Mike D'Antoni should watch out. The Jazz sent the Lakers to their fourth loss in five games -- again -- with a 117-110 win at Staples Center on Sunday night. Facing...
