On a back-to-back, against the class of the NBA, without their star point guard, I wasn’t expecting much out of the Cavaliers last night in Miami. But, the Cavaliers gave viewers one of the most entertaining games of the season as they caught fire from behind the arc in the first half and had their most balanced scoring of the season with seven players reaching double figures. However, the Heat leveled up their defensive pressure in the second half, and Ray Allen’s 15-point fourth quarter was too much for the Cavs to survive as they fell 110-108 in South Beach. I made the comment during the game that sometimes things don’t have to make sense to be fun. I think that sums up Jeremy Pargo and Omri Casspi leading the charge for the Cavaliers in a game against a team with four perennial All-Stars. Initially, the Cavs seemed to be winning each 50-50 ball and sinking every three point shot they took. Casspi had three of those alone in the first half, and the team had ten. More than the thr...

Ray Allen there for LeBron at the buzzer

MIAMI -- The Boston Celtics don't like the Miami Heat. Nevertheless, Ray Allen remembers the Celtics coming to LeBron James' defense last season. It was March 2 and the Heat were playing at Utah. James passed off in the waning seconds to Udonis Haslem, who missed a potential game-winning jumper. James got barbecued in the media for not taking the shot himself. "He...

Game time: Friday at 7 p.m. ET TV: FOX Sports Florida However unlikely, Jeremy Pargo is trying to continue softening the blow of a major absence for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Orlando Magic are just looking for some consistency. Pargo looks to build on the best performance of his career and help the visiting Cavaliers beat the Magic for the first time in 10 tries Friday night...

Cleveland Cavaliers End Latest Road Trip in Memphis Tonight

The Cleveland Cavaliers had an interesting Thanksgiving weekend. Last Wednesday they got things started with a big win at home against Philadelphia to end their losing streak. Jeremy Pargo had an absolutely insane breakout game in filling in for Kyrie Irving. Unfortunately, the Cavaliers had to follow that up with another road trip. This one a 3 game trip, and they have already lost...

Allen comes to Heat's rescue against Cavaliers

MIAMI -- Ray Allen stole the show -- again. Saturday night was the first time LeBron James played his former team as a reigning NBA champion. And even though the Heat star had a game-high 30 points, it was Allen who made the biggest scoring plays late to help the Heat rally to a 110-108 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Trailing 108-101 with 1:58 left, the Heat started their...

Cavaliers edged late by Heat

MIAMI (AP) -- Ray Allen took a pass from LeBron James and made a 3-pointer with 18.2 seconds left, and the Miami Heat rallied from a seven-point deficit in the final 1:52 to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 110-108 on Saturday night. James finished with 30 points for the Heat, who remained perfect at home despite leading for only 2 minutes, 29 seconds. Chris Bosh scored 23 points, Dwyane...

Box Score: Heat 110, Cavaliers 108

Win or lose, at the end of this game I couldn’t help but be proud of my beloved Cavaliers. Without Kyrie Irving, they were competing with the reigning NBA Champs on their home court — although, the advantage isn’t really a notable one. But yet, a loss like this still hurts. The most prolific three-point shooter in NBA history, Ray Allen, made the game-winner, Dwyane Wade was...

Celtics Continue to Flop

So far the Celtics are better off than the Red Sox in their first 12 games. At 6-6 the Celtics are playing at .500, good enough for 3 games out of 4th place. The loss of Ray Allen was devastating to the team, but they still remain an offensive force. While Allen was a great offensive player and contributed to team chemistry, he was not a key cog in the green machine during his Boston...

Cavs played hard in Miami, which is all I was really hoping for

The beating that Ryan and them put on him felt like way more than one win. I was actually surprised to realize he had won six of seven times already. The team splits, however, could possibly be spun into something encouraging.  There were only four other NBA teams he's averaged less points against for his career through seven games. So the good guys are like the filth...
