The lockout is supposed to hunt down veterans like Shawn Kemp — those older players who like to dabble in cocaine, alcohol, out-of-wedlock children and Taco Bell’s famed Fourth Meal — rather than championship-tested veterans known for their maniacal workout sessions running in the sands of Malibu Beach. Knowing the lockout would end at some point, understanding that Boston’s Big Three might have one last shot at a ring (if the stars aligned perfectly, perhaps including an injury to one of Miami’s Talented Trio), I figured the Celtics would return to camp in better shape than most teams due to a rare level of professionalism in the Boston locker room.Instead, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo were the only two starters who returned post-lockout ready to compete at their highest levels (and, luck would have it, they’re both now injured). Jermaine O’Neal claims to have spent the offseason participating in rookie-like workouts, but has often played like a pregnant lady pushing her third trime...

Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen left Sunday's game against the Washington Wizards with an ankle injury.
Allen was hurt in the second quarter when he collided with Wizards rookie Jan Vesely. He did not return.
X-rays were negative on Allen, who said he felt tightness and pain in the ankle but would attempt to play in Monday's game against Orlando.

BYE BYE BIG THREE?
A recent report indicates the Celtics have given Danny Ainge the go-ahead to trade any member of the team. It could be time for Boston fans to move on.
Despite missing five players due to injury - including Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen and Mickael Pietrus - the Celtics played arguably their greatest game of the entire season, manhandling the Orlando Magic at the TD Garden 87-56. The Magic drop to 11-5 as the Celtics improve to 7-9. It is the first time all season the Celtics have beaten an opponent with a winning record.

Without Rajon Rondo in the line up and Ray Allen being sidelined in the first half due to injury, today's game was there for Washington's taking. Instead, the only thing the Wiz Kids got was a steady dose of Paul Pierce. The future hall of famer had a game high 34 points and 10 assists in his best game this season for the C's and lead his team to a 100-94 victory over...
The Boston Celtics will be without starters Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo and three bench players, severely depleting their roster for Monday night's game against the Orlando Magic. Boston coach Doc Rivers delivered the news about an hour before the game. Allen jammed his left ankle in the second quarter of Sunday's win at Washington and didn't return.
Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo are among five Celtics out for Monday's game against the Magic.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers says point guard Rajon Rondo will miss Sunday's game against the Washington Wizards with a sprained right wrist.
Out of 6 wins, 3 of those are against the Wizards. When do we get to play them again??? Good discussion of Pierce's value. Some love him and some hate him but none can deny his talent. I love that they find solace in not being Toronto :) Enjoy today's Comments from the Other Side. They are definitely more fun when we win! (And a Hat Tip to DH for the new graphic...
Beasley for McGee
Any chance we could get in on a Paul Pierce or Ray Allen deal? Supposedly Ainge is interested in creating cap space to retool next season.
Randolph, Pekovic, Johnson, Malcolm Lee.
I'm curious to see what happens at the trade deadline this year. I feels like their could be quite a bit of movement with Dwight, Celtics, Rockets, whoever.
