Detroit Pistons center Ben Wallace pleaded guilty Tuesday to a pair of misdemeanor charges in exchange for having a felony gun charge dropped, according to local reports.
On Sept. 24, Wallace was arrested after his vehicle was stopped in Bloomfield Township. Wallace's blood-alcohol level was 0.14, and an unloaded gun registered to his wife was found in a backpack in the vehicle.
According to reports, the felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon was dropped by prosecutors in exchange for guilty pleas on misdemeanor charges of drunken driving and firearm possession. Wallace appeared in court and admitted he had too much to drink.
Wallace faces a maximum of 93 days in jail but likely will be sentenced to probation and community service on Dec. 13.
Wallace is a 15-year veteran, four-time Defensive Player of the Year and two-time rebounding champion who played for the Detroit Pistons last season.
