Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
If your a sports fan you probably are familiar with Bill Simmons. If your a Boston sports fan, your probably a die hard Bill Simmons fan as he loves Boston sports and Celtics basketball particularly. "The Sports Guy" has been a writer for ESPN for years and launched his own ESPN affiliate site Grantland.
In his most recent podcast Bill Simmons sat down with Boston hometown favorite and new CSNNE broadcaster Brian Scalabrine. The two recorded about an hour long podcast discussing Scalabrine's road through the NBA, his time with the Celtics, and the recent Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo fiasco.
Whether your on the commute to work, have time to kill, or simply love all things Celtics I highly recommend giving it a listen. Scalabrine provides an interesting inside perspective about his time with the Celtics, the relationships of players, and even who were the best "glue guys" on his teams. As a former Celtic and Chicago Bull he has some unique insight about the rivalry, similarities, and differences between players like Rajon Rondo vs. Derrick Rose and Kevin Garnett vs. Joakim Noah.

We’ve all marveled at Jeff Green’s performance thus far in preseason. There’s been the dunks, the blocks and the all-around explosiveness. Expectations among Celtics fans are very high going into the 2012-13 season. NBA.com’s Sekou Smith also believes that Green is on the cusp of what could be a very productive year:

Of the 11 play types tracked by Synergy Sports, transition accounted for a team-high 16.8 percent of Boston’s preseason plays. Boston averaged 1.216 points per play (169 points on 139 plays), which ranked second...
BOSTON -- Throughout training camp and the preseason, the Celtics saluted
Jason Terry, Courtney Lee and others for sacrificing minutes and shots for the
shot at a championship. When Terry signed, he assumed he would split time at

sign-and-trade from Houston, he was aware of players ahead of him in Boston'...
The results of the annual GM survey were published today, and two teams, who are coincidentially our biggest rivals, were in the spotlight. This could either be good news or bad news depending on your perspective. Personally, I like it more when the rivals get such attention because it adds to the pleasure of beating them.
Before diving into the results, I'd like to remind you...
There is NO DOUBT Jason Terry is already enjoying his time in Boston. The newest member of the Boston Celtics decided to PRANK some folks with just a cardboard box and one of his teammates.
The reactions are PRICELESS…..even his.
Justin Barrasso will be perusing the box scores of the Boston Celtics during the Larry Bird years, starting with Bird’s rookie year in 1979-1980. We’ll be posting the box score as well as some commentary each game day as we re-visit the ’79-’80 season. Enjoy.

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Ray Allen has been busy this week filling

his view, anyway -- during his time with the Celtics. The new member of the

With a full day of practice behind him today, "The Brazilian Blur," Leandro Barbosa is officially a member of the 2012-13 Boston Celtics. The Ray Allen stories just won't stop coming. In an article from Fox Sports Florida, legendary Celtics players/broadcasters Tommy Heinsohn and Bob Cousy are quoted as saying the C's should retire Allen's #20.
Both cited Ray's contributions to 2008 championship team as the key factor.

And on the fourth week, the Celtics rested.
After opening training camp three days earlier than any other team, the Celtics find themselves with an unusually long duration between games this week. They have an eight-day layoff between their final preseason game and their regular-season opener against the Miami Heat next Tuesday, and as the last days of preseason wound down, the...

While he doesn’t score goals or drop in front of shots, Bettman is one of the five most recognized names in the business. And you’re going to get him to sell fans...
