Just last week it looked like Bismack Biyombo would not play in the NBA this season but that all changed when Biyombo and the Charlotte Bobcats decided to pay the 1.5 million buyout. Biyombo even paid money out of his own pocket to play in the NBA this season.
Biyombo was 7th overall pick in this year 2011 NBA draft. Biyombo, who is from the Congo was taken by the Sacramento Kings then he was traded to the Charlotte Bobcats.
Biyombo decided to start his young career by playing in Spain. He made his professional debut in the Spanish ACB League with Fuenlabrada against DKV Joventut on January 9, 2011.
Fuenlabrada, wanted Biyombo’s full contract buyout, and the Spanish courts agreed with the club.
Due to the certain rules the Bobcats as a team could only pay $500,000 of the 1.5 million buyout. So if Biyombo wanted to play in the NBA he needed to play 1 million out of his pocket.
