Well, that was unfortunate. Last night, the Magic fell to the lowly Charlotte Bobcats. Over their last four games, the Magic have had big wins over the Los Angeles Clippers and Indiana Pacers, while dropping the ball (bad pun, but appropriate) to the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Bobcats. Or you can look at it like this; our two wins were against teams with a combined 56-25 and our losses have come to teams with a total of 18-58. That is a prime example of a team playing to the level of their opponents. Back to last night's embarrassment. Second year guard, Kemba Walker, roasted the Magic's defense yet again. He had 25 points/5 assists/8 rebounds with 2 steals and a single turnover. Jameer Nelson continues to show his major deficiency, substandard defense. The Bobcats are a bottom 5 rebounding team, but you wouldn't have known it from watching the game last night. While Glen Davis and Nikola Vucevic did an admirable job snagging boards, team rebounding beyond them was lackluster. The Bobcats won the rebounding battle, 43-36; one game removed from setting a franchise record for getting out-rebounded 60-31 by the Indiana Pacers. Congratulations to Jacob Gainey for winning the Crystal Ball predictions contest for last night's game! On Sunday, the Orlando Magic will test their mettle against the Dallas Mavericks and we will run the final Crystal Ball game of the week, so stay tuned! This week has been fairly unpredictable, so the weekly contest is still very much up for grabs.

Report: Celtics covet J.J. Redick

Let me start by saying I like J.J. Redick’s game and would love to see him in a Celtics uniform. He’s a great shooter and gritty defender. But… the Celtics already have a glut of shooting guards. Who stays and who goes? I wouldn’t swap Avery Bradley for Redick or any other shooting guard (Kobe, Wade and Harden excluded). Courtney Lee makes the most sense. If that’s the...

Magic not quite together against Bobcats

It was the kind of night where nothing seemed to go right for Orlando. Even with a chance to win the game. Arron Afflalo was trying to force the action, something Orlando was not doing for much of the previous three quarters as the team tried to bounce back from a rough second and third quarter. Orlando finally had the urgency to try and push and impose its will on Charlotte...

The Boston Celtics want J.J. Redick. David Baumann tweeted this rumor Saturday morning: "As Feb. 21 #NBA trade deadline looms, sources tell me the Boston Celtics covet Orlando Magic SG J.J. Redick" And why wouldn't they? The Magic shooting guard is having a career year: 14.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, .5 steals and .1 blocks with 87 3-pointers made in...
