Bobcats' Thomas sidelined two months with torn calf

Charlotte Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas will miss approximately two months due to a torn left calf muscle. The team announced Monday that an MRI showed a second-degree calf strain and a torn plantaris muscle, a muscle that helps the calf flex the ankle. Thomas, hurt Saturday in the Bobcats' home loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, won't require surgery. Thomas was averaging...

Bobcats Narrowly Defeat Team Coached By “Boardwalk Empire” Character

“If Ramon Sessions continues to play as he has this first month he’ll end up the best free-agent signing in Bobcats history,” noted The Charlotte Observer’s Rick Bonnell, clearly forgetting about Othella Harrington and Dontell Jefferson.  Still, Sessions has been pretty good.  His 3-pointer on Monday night to tie the game late against the Milwaukee [...]

Bucks must avoid trap game against Charlotte

The Charlotte Bobcats won just seven games in 2011-12, by far the worst team in the NBA. Just how bad? The second worst team in the league won 13 more games than Charlotte. The Bobcats were putting their hopes into the NBA Draft lottery, hoping to land star big man Anthony Davis. He was going to instantly come in and change the franchise. Just one problem, the lottery ping pong balls...

The Charlotte Bobcats will make the Playoffs

First I’ll admit, I was wrong. I knew we would be better than last season, of course, but in no way did I think we would come out of the gate like Seabiscuit aiming for the triple crown. I’m surprised, but in a good way and that’s always a good thing. I agree that anyone [...]

Charlotte Bobcats vs. Toronto Raptors Preview and Pick

Don’t look now, but your Charlotte Bobcats are 5-4. That’s right, they’re a game above .500, riding a crazy four-game winning streak, and have a date with the hapless 3-7 Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night. Should they laugh in the face of the gods, they could enter Thanksgiving Day as a very, very thankful bunch. [...]

Sessions helps lift Bobcats over Bucks

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Ramon Sessions scored nine of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, including a pair of free throws with 4.2 seconds left to seal the game, and the Charlotte Bobcats beat the Milwaukee Bucks 102-98 on Monday night. The Bobcats trailed by 11 in the fourth but battled back, going 16 of 16 from the free throw line down the stretch. Sessions' two free throws...

Starting 5: New Cats on the block

Every morning, we will give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day. 1: Not your average Bobcats Last year when the Charlotte Bobcats appeared on the schedule it was marked down pretty simply as a win. The Bobcats were not just bad, they were historically bad, comically bad and hopelessly bad. Whatever young players worth saving from that team,...

Bobcats win another close one, rallying past Bucks 102-98

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Mike Dunlap wanted to change the culture of the Charlotte Bobcats when he took over as coach last summer. So far, he is definitely succeeding. The Bobcats fought back from an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter on Monday night to stun the Milwaukee Bucks 102-98 at Time Warner Cable Arena, winning for the fourth time in their last five games. The win moved...

Bobcats' Quick Defensive Adjustments Paying Dividends

Raptors-Bobcats Preview

With four victories in their last five games, the Charlotte Bobcats have nearly matched their win total from 2011-12. They can already surpass last season's home win total on Wednesday night when the struggling Toronto Raptors try to avoid a fourth consecutive road loss in this series. Since opening 1-3, the Bobcats have lost just once, 94-87 to Memphis on Saturday when they...

Ellis goes for 31, but Bucks let one slip to Bobcats

The Milwaukee Bucks let one slip away Monday night, losing to the Charlotte Bobcats 102-98. This game was all about the guard matchups, with several of the quickest guards in the league meeting up – Jennings/Ellis v Kemba Walker/Ramon Sessions. Initially, the Bobcats combo got the best of the Bucks, with Walker shooting 6/6 in the first half and Sessions contributing 8 points...
