Found January 17, 2013 on Red's Army:
Avery Bradley suffered a rib injury during the loss to the New Orleans Hornets and might miss some time to recover.  After reviewing his game time on the floor, it appears that he injured himself while attempting to steal the ball from Robin Lopez in the fourth quarter.  With about 4:32 remaining in the fourth quarter, AB lunged at Lopez attempting to steal the ball, and as he did this, Lopez turned and they collided.  On the next possession, Lopez hits a jumper at the top of the key and you can see AB holding his side.  He leaves the game shortly after, while officials review Paul Pierce’s foul on Greivis Vasquez to determine if it was a two or three-pointer.  See CSNNE screen shot below:

Video: Xavier Henry fails miserably at full court shot

New Orleans Hornets guard Xavier Henry simply failed to realize how much time he had before letting this shot go. How else do you explain it?Leading 86-68 with time winding down in the third quarter, Henry picked off an errant pass from a Philadelphia 76ers, and frantically launched the ball toward the basket in hopes of beating the clock. As you can see, the ball falls well shy...

Austin Rivers Believes Father Is One of Two Best Coaches in NBA, Sees Monty Williams on His Way Up List

Kevin Garnett Calls Anthony Davis ‘Freak of Nature,’ Says Hornets Rookie Makes Him Feel ‘Like a Midget’

BOSTON — On the surface, Anthony Davis seems to have a lot in common with a young Kevin Garnett. The lithe rookie for the New Orleans Hornets is just as freakishly athletic at 6-foot-10 as Garnett was as a 19-year-old for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1995. Just like a young Garnett, Davis’ potential is clear despite a mostly up-and-down rookie campaign. Playing against Davis...

Celtics Streak Ends in Loss to Hornets 90-78

On Wednesday night the Celtics faced the New Orleans Hornets looking to extend their win streak to seven games. This also marked the first match-up between the Rivers father and son. Austin Rivers was drafted fifth this past year to the Hornets yet has struggled to find his game in the NBA. The Hornets came into the night on their second of back to back games coming off a strong...

Doc Rivers Coaching Celtics Against Austin Rivers Puts Family Among Top 10 Father-Son Sports Duos (Photos)

Fathers playing ball with their sons is as old as sports itself, and many great athletes have passed on their love of the game to a child coming behind. Doc Rivers was certainly the proud dad on NBA Draft night this year, hugging his son, Austin, after he was picked by the New Orleans Hornets. Austin’s dream has long been to play in the NBA (as his father also did), and Doc was...

Comments from the Other Side - Hornets 1/16

The Celtics really lost focus last night and just played terribly.  I mean there's now excuse for a pro team to shoot 37% from the line.  That's lack of focus.  Maybe they all subconsciously were trying to make Austin look better because he's struggling so much and that was their gift to their coach.  Hopefully they get it together for Friday's game.   37% from...

Kevin Garnett Praises Anthony Davis

From one athletic freak out of Chicago’s South Side to another, Kevin Garnett had high praise for Anthony Davis. “That kid is long,” the aging Celtics superstar said of the Hornets rookie. “He makes me look like a midget, man. I was nothing like him. He’s a freak of nature. This kid’s going to be really good. He’s going to be really good.” via Ben Rohrbach, WEEI.com

Austin wins Rivers family battle as Hornets down Celtics

BOSTON -- Austin Rivers had a stop to make after Wednesday night's game at TD Garden. The rookie guard had to go see his father, and ... well, rub it in just a little. "Oh yeah, that's what I'm about to do right now. I'm about to get changed and go not to the locker room but to his office; be like 'What's up?'," the younger Rivers said after...

Doc Wasn't Looking Forward To Facing Austin, Will Reflect On It In Coming Years

The Hornets beat the Celtics by a final score of 90-78, with Austin Rivers scoring eight points in 23 minutes.

Your Morning Dump… Where Doc should have seen this coming

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. With his team’s confidence maybe overflowing a bit too much amidst a season-high six-game winning streak, Rivers wrote, ‘Guard down,’ after Tuesday’s practice session. With that in mind, he blamed himself...

Hornets 90, Celtics 78

BOSTON - The New Orleans Hornets, a young team starting to find its way, put an end to the Celtics' six-game winning streak with an impressive 90-78 win over Boston Wednesday night. The Hornets, who have suddenly won six of their last seven games, won for the second straight night on the road and also won the battle within the Rivers family, with rookie guard Austin Rivers...

Live Game Updates - Hornets @ Celtics

7:49: The 20-17 Celtics will host the 12-26 Hornets tonight at the TD Garden. Austin Rivers will be playing against his dad tonight in a highly publicized matchup. The Celtics will probably get a good test tonight, but I think they'll win. The Hornets just aren't good enough. Tip-off is at 8:00 pm ET. Keep checking here after each quarter for updates.

Regress: Boston Celtics fall to New Orleans Hornets 90-78

"Tonight, I'll see you in my nightmares." -Kanye WestPlease, let’s not make this about Doc and Austin Rivers. The story line has been beaten to death and, in the end, it had absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of the game. One man is a coach. A very good one, to be sure, but even the best coach can only make rotations and draw up plays. The onus is on the players...
