It seemed all but a foregone conclusion that the Portland Trailblazers’ organization was going to be using the amnesty clause because there seemed like there was no way that the organization would risk getting burned in contract situations with Brandon Roy and Greg Oden. However, the organization shocked the world by rewarding loyalty something that rarely happens in sports these days.
Team president, Larry Miller recently commented on the B-Roy situation by stating, “We feel he has been there for us, and we want him to know we are supporting him. We expect Brandon to be a part of this team when the season starts.”
It just goes to show you sometimes in the cold world of sports, even nice guys do not always get thrown to the wolves. Maybe, Brandon Roy can find a way to give the team some consistent production this season as long as he does not play on any back to back games.
