Brian Scalabrine as an NBA coach is an idea just crazy enough to make sense. Scalabrine, the longtime fan favorite for the Celtics and more recently the Bulls, apparently is a frontrunner to become an assistant coach on Tom Thibodeau's staff in Chicago, according to CSN Chicago. At least the "White Mamba" has experience watching games from the bench. Check out some highlights and lowlights from Scalabrine's career in the excellent video below by A Basketball Jones.

Report: Brian Scalabrine In Line to Join Bulls Coaching Staff

There was some question as to whether Brian Scalabrine would pick up a basketball as a player or pick up a microphone as an analyst this season. It looks like he'll do neither, and instead opt for a clipboard. Scalabrine is in line to join Tom Thibodeau's Bulls coaching staff, according to CSNChicago.com. Former Bulls assistant coach Rick Brunson took a position with the...

Did Thibs steal Coach Scalabrine from Doc?

Remember when Doc said that he wanted Scal on his coaching staff when his playing career was over? Well according to CSN Chicago: "When NBA training camps open in a little over a month, there’s a good chance that like the last two seasons, Brian Scalabrine will be in Deerfield, Ill., at the Berto Center with the Bulls–just not as a player. According to sources familiar...

Carlos Boozer isn't an amnesty target, right now anyway

Carlos Boozer has three years and $47.1 million left on his contract. He has not been that awesome in Chicago, and a good portion of Bulls fans would have liked to see him bounced two seasons ago. He is still in the Windy City though, and apparently will be for the short-term. While the Bulls still hold their amnesty card, Hoopsworld is reporting that sources insist they have...

For those of you who haven’t heard the analogy, Wade used the holes on a golf course to describe the differences between Jordan and LeBron’s careers (Michael Jordan on the 18th hole and LeBron James on the 4th hole). By using the golf course to compare where each superstar...

Rumor: Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, and Bobcats interested in Josh Howard

Free agency rumors have thinned out basically due to the lower level of talent available, but if a team wants a veteran bench contributor, Josh Howard may be your guy. He’s currently in Charlotte working out with the Bobcats, but the Bulls, Knicks, are also interested in his services via Marc Spears: Free agent [...]
