Deron Williams has gotten a lot of bad press lately. With the firing of Brooklyn Nets coach Avery Johnson, he garnered a reputation as a coach killer/diva. But here’s some more Williams news that isn’t bad PR.

Shortly after Avery Johnson was fired as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, the other NBA franchise familiar with Deron Williams’ effect on coaching decisions, the Utah Jazz, took a not-so-subtle jab at their former All-Star point guard.

The sudden dismissal of Avery Johnson by Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov leaves much more questions than answers. PJ Carlesimo has taken over as the interim, bit there is no reason to believe a coach with a less than stellar NBA coaching resume will take the reigns of arguably the 3rd best roster in the Eastern Conference.
Phil Jackson is the top target for the Nets’ head...
The Utah Jazz apparently still harbor hard feelings towards Deron Williams. Hours after Avery Johnson was fired and claims Phil Jackson was the Nets top target, the Jazz sent out a Tweet directed at the “good not great” players on the Nets, which many believe is aimed directly at former Jazz PG, Deron Williams:
Has to be fake, right? Nope! The Jazz issued a statement after the...
Deron Williams started last night's game against the Charlotte Bobcats after missing Wednesday's game with a bruised right wrist. The off day was the first for Williams this season. The injury comes at a time of turmoil for the Brooklyn Nets as coach Avery Johnson was recently fired. Mike Mazzeo of ESPN New York says the plan to sit Williams came from the Nets'...
With the Brooklyn Nets firing their head coach Avery Johnson yesterday, point guard Deron Williams saw his reputation as a coach killer increase. First there was Williams’ influence forcing legendary leader Jerry Sloan into retirement, and now the Johnson situation. Williams now seems like a NBA version of Steve Buscemi’s character in “Billy Madison” who had a “people to...
Deron Williams scored eight points with two assists in the Nets' 104-73 loss on Monday to the Spurs.
Following Nets coach Avery Johnson’s firing, Barkley said it’s time for Williams to “put up or shut up,” while O’Neal said he needs to “look in the mirror.”
“He’s got the reputation of getting coaches fired,” Barkley said. “Whatever happened in Utah [head coach Jerry Sloan resigned], it happened. Whatever happened in Brooklyn, it happened. This is all on Deron...

After news broke that the Brooklyn Nets fired head coach Avery Johnson, many began to point the finger at some of the underachieving Brooklyn players. Deron Williams is first on the list, as the max contract point guard is struggling to find his shooting touch.

IT AIN'T MY FAULT
Nets point guard Deron Williams denies being the reason head coach Avery Johnson was fired by the team. He recently complained about the team's offensive system.
Yesterday the Brooklyn Nets fired coach Avery Johnson in the wake of a 14-14 record and after losing 7 of their last 10 games. This was no surprise as there have been rumors that the team’s star player, Deron Williams, was unhappy with Johnson’s system and if the NBA has taught us anything over the years, it is that if a team has to choose between their star and their coach,...
After another ugly loss to Milwaukee, the Nets’ tenth loss of December, Avery Johnson was finally “relieved of his coaching duties.” Most of the attention and blame has been directed at Deron Williams. I don’t agree. In fact, I thought this coaching change came late enough.
Avery Johnson is not a great coach and he was underachieving with the Nets. His record with New Jersey...
If I were a Nets fan, I'm not sure I'd be too thrilled about the firing of head coach Avery Johnson. Brooklyn made NBA history by becoming the first team to fire its coach just a month after the guy won "Coach of the Month" honors.Despite Deron Williams' recent comments that he preferred playing in Jerry Sloan's system in Utah, he still never came out to...
Avery Johnson took the high road when he addressed the media Thursday after being fired by the Brooklyn Nets. The ex-head coach claims he never saw the firing coming and said, "This is the ownership's decision. This is what we signed up for."
Johnson's teenage son didn't take the news as well and went thumbs-out on his Twitter account to vent his anger...
A mere day after Brooklyn axed Avery Johnson following 2 1/2-years with the organization, Phil Jackson’s agent said the legendary coach has “no interest in the Nets job at this time.” Despite having talented ballplayers Joe Johnson, Deron Williams and … Continue reading →
