Via Nets Daily: The Brookly Nets’ General Manager told media that the organization has not reached out to anyone to fill Avery Johnson’s position and does not want to put a timetable on it. Smart response for King to try to keep things silent for awhile until they can find a way to convince Phil Jackson to come to Brooklyn. Billy King said the Nets have not yet contacted anyone about replacing Avery Johnson on a permanent basis. “We have not contacted anybody, not sat down with anybody. We made the move and we’re going to let P.J. coach,” King told O’Connor on ESPN Radio Sunday, echoing Mikhail Prokhorov’s comments Friday night. He did say, repeatedly, that they will re-evaluate P.J. Carlesimo at some point but wouldn’t put a timetable on it. “He is going to be the head coach until we re-evaluate things,” he said more than once. When asked when that re-evaluation would come, he was again non-committal. “I don’t want to put a timetable on it.” When asked specifically about Phil Jacks

Nets GM Billy King: “P.J.’s Our Coach”

Billy King says he has “not contacted anybody” about becoming the permanent replacement for recently fired head coach Avery Johnson. While King didn’t want to put a timetable on anything, he did suggest that Carlesimo could conceivably finish out the season, calling it “a great opportunity” for Johnson’s former assistant, who has several years of NBA head coaching experience...

Nets support Carlesimo as coach

Brooklyn Nets general manager Billy King told ESPN New York radio on Sunday that interim coach P.J. Carlesimo is the coach for now and that the team is not actively looking for a permanent replacement for fired coach Avery Johnson. Phil Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy have been rumored candidates but King said he has "not contacted anybody," that the team "supports"...

Nets: Brook Lopez is the Go-To Guy in PJ Carlesimo’s System

Head coach PJ Carlesimo’s first two games have been wins, and Brook Lopez has been the go-to guy in the Nets new system. The numbers don’t lie and Carlesimo for the moment has instilled confidence in Lopez, as well as the Nets team. Lopez is on fire the last two games shooting 13-20 from the field—going 9-11 from the free throw line, against the Cavaliers. In the win against...

Brooklyn Nets Deron Williams has new video game: NBA Baller Beats

Deron Williams has gotten a lot of bad press lately. With the firing of Brooklyn Nets coach Avery Johnson, he garnered a reputation as a coach killer/diva. But here’s some more Williams news that isn’t bad PR. The freshly-launched NBA Baller Beats (the first ever motion-based sports video game using a real basketball in an interactive beats-driven experience) exclusively on Kinect...

Nets Waive Josh Childress

The Brooklyn Nets have requested waivers on small forward Josh Childress, the team announced tonight after its 103-100 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Childress appeared in 14 games for the Nets, averaging 1.0 points and 1.1 rebounds in 7.1 minutes per game. Childress was on a non-guaranteed deal with Brooklyn that would have become guaranteed on January 10th. Waiving Childress...

Brooklyn Nets Still Have Long Way to Go, As Weak Schedule Could Be Fool’s Gold No Matter Who Is Coaching

No player likes to be taken off the court, but Deron Williams had to be wishing interim coach P.J. Carlesimo would take him out of his misery in the third quarter on Monday. Williams, who has stunningly devolved into the most average $17 million point guard the NBA has ever seen, clunked and stumbled his way to another forgettable performance in a loss to the Spurs. All memories...

Cavs rally, fall short vs. Nets in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (AP) -- Brook Lopez scored a season-high 35 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and the Brooklyn Nets improved to 2-0 under interim coach P.J. Carlesimo by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 103-100 on Saturday night. Lopez followed his 26-point, 11-rebound performance in a victory Friday over Charlotte by shooting 13 of 20 from the field, making a number of timely baskets in...

Brooklyn Nets not searching, P.J. Carlesimo their coach for now

Tweet   After Avery Johnson was fired, the rumor mill came close to spinning off its hinges with possible head-coaching candidates for the Brooklyn Nets. Names like Phil Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy were two of the high-profile reported candidate to be the new coach of the Nets. However, Nets general manager Billy King put [...]

Nets Rumors: Phil Jackson Brooklyn’s ‘No. 1 Choice’

Big third quarter fuels Spurs to win

The Brooklyn Nets ended 2012 a few hours earlier than most. Tony Parker had 20 points and the San Antonio Spurs held the Nets to only five points in the third quarter en route to a 104-73 win Monday night. MarShon Brooks had a season-high 16 points to lead Brooklyn (16-15), which suffered its first loss under interim head coach P.J. Carlesimo. Joe Johnson added 12 points and Brook...

Kris Humphries’ Wife Is Pregnant With Kanye West’s Baby Now

Great. There was a rumor earlier this year that Kim Kardashian was pregnant with Kanye West’s baby, but everyone in her camp of evil harpies denied it because it would have meant that she had been sleeping with West while she was still “happily married” to Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries and then he could have taken her to court and shouted, “Hurrrrr, pay up, derp....

Late rally falls short, Cavs lose in Brooklyn, 103-100

This happened a lot. The Cavs nearly stole this one. Well, they nearly forced overtime. Cleveland dug themselves a decent sized hole, forcing themselves to play catch-up for the bulk of the night, but they had a shot. With a player like Kyrie Irving, you always have a shot. It wasn’t Irving’s best game; Kyrie finished with 13 points on just 5-16 shooting and was 1-6 from behind...

Box Score: Nets 103, Cavaliers 100

Brook Lopez was just too much for the depleted and young Cavalier frontcourt. The Brooklyn big man had a game-high 35 points and fouled Tyler Zeller out as the Cavaliers used a late surge to close the gap against the Nets, but Kyrie Irving’s game-tying three-point attempt misfired as time expired, giving the Nets a 103-100 win at the Barclays Center. C.J. Miles led the team with...

Nets-Spurs Preview

The Brooklyn Nets haven't lost since P.J. Carlesimo took over as interim coach, but the competition is about to get much tougher. After losing 10 of its first 13 games this month, Brooklyn...
