Fox Sports Wisconsin:
The Indiana Pacers had no problem putting the ball in the basket last season against the Milwaukee Bucks, but that was with Danny Granger in the lineup.
They could sure use him there now.
Indiana goes for its first road win in five tries Wednesday night when the Bucks try to avoid a third straight home loss.
Led by Granger's 21.7 points per game, Indiana averaged 116.0 as it swept the three matchups with Milwaukee last season.
However, with Granger yet to play this season due to left patellar tendinitis - he's not expected to return for up to three months - Indiana (3-5) has scored more than 100 points just once and is averaging 88.1 on 40.1 percent shooting.
The Pacers converted a season-low 24 field goals in Tuesday's 74-72 home loss to Toronto, which had a franchise-low five points in the fourth quarter.
Indiana has dropped four of five.
"It was hard for us to put the ball in the hole," said coach Frank Vogel, whose team has shot worse than 40 percent in half of its games. "We've got multiple guys in shooting slumps right now. We're getting a number of open looks at the rim and they're not going down."
The Bucks (4-2) have been having that problem in their last two games in Milwaukee, hitting a combined 39.1 percent of their shots and averaging 91.0 points in a pair of defeats.
Milwaukee, though, returns home following Monday's 105-96 win over Philadelphia. Brandon Jennings finished with a season-best 33 points after missing 10 of 11 shots and scoring four points in Saturday's 96-92 home loss to Boston.
"In the first half, he was just spreading the ball around nicely and getting the guys involved," coach Scott Skiles said of Jennings, who also dished out eight assists. "When it came time for him to score some points, he did that as well."
Jennings averaged a team-high 18.3 points last season against Indiana with 5.7 assists.
Backcourt mate Monta Ellis also had 17 assists in those three contests, yet he totaled only 43 points.
Ellis leads Milwaukee with 20.7 points per game in 2012-13, but he's shooting a career-low 39.3 percent and has hit just 7 of 27 from 3-point range. Getting back on track could be a challenge as Indiana is among the NBA leaders in scoring defense (90.1 points per game) and field goal defense (41.0).
The Pacers are also near the top in rebounds per game with 48.5, led by Paul George (68 total), David West (66) and Roy Hibbert (63).
West and Hibbert led Indiana with 28 boards against Milwaukee in 2011-12.
Bucks forward Larry Sanders, who is grabbing a team-best 9.2 boards per game, had nine off the bench Monday when Milwaukee set season highs for rebounds (48) and rebounding margin (17).
With its first season sweep of Milwaukee since 2006-07, Indiana has now won five straight against Milwaukee after losing the previous six.
The Pacers' last 6-0 run in this series, excluding playoffs, was a seven-game stretch from Nov. 20, 1997-April 21, 1999.

MILWAUKEE -- Monta Ellis and Ekpe Udoh are going to give it a try Wednesday night against Indiana. Both missed practice Tuesday and didn't participate in Milwaukee's shootaround Wednesday. Bucks coach Scott Skiles saw both as questionable, but both told him they wanted to play. Ellis injured his thumb in Monday's victory over Philadelphia. The swelling was so great Tuesday...
Two nights ago, the Milwaukee Bucks watched Boston take control of a close game in the fourth quarter by stepping up and making shots.
Monday night found the Bucks yet again in the fourth quarter of a close game. This time around Milwaukee clamped down defensively, which lead to easy baskets and sealed the Bucks 105-96 win over Philadelphia, their first 3-0 road start since 2001...
ST. FRANCIS, WIS.- The Bucks are 4-2. So far, so good, right?Well, yes, but Milwaukee sees an opportunity for more. With two very winnable home games left this week and a trip to Charlotte on Monday, the Bucks want to be 7-2 before heading to Miami next Wednesday. Milwaukee has only been 7-2 or better through nine games twice since 1983. With the Danny Granger-less Indiana Pacers...
It's been a pretty disgusting season thus far if you are a Pacers fan, and last year's miracle run to the second round appears to have been a fluke.Granted, it's probably still too early to write off this team, but the signs have rarely been worse. On Tuesday, they scored just 72 points in a loss against the Raptors, and this was after managing to hold the Raptors to...
MILWAUKEE -- Ekpe Udoh let it be known as he came through the Milwaukee Bucks locker room."It's a great day to be a Milwaukee Buck." He'd be hard pressed to find someone who disagrees, at least for one night. Milwaukee sensed a struggling opponent and buried them, leading by as many as 32 points to move to 5-2 on the young season. "That's something coach...

MILWAUKEE -- Jumping out to an early lead wasn't a problem for the Milwaukee Bucks last season. Holding on to those leads was another story. It wasn't a problem Wednesday, though, as Milwaukee opened with a 24-7 run and led a game from start to finish for the first time all season in a 99-85 victory over the Indiana Pacers. "Not only getting out to the lead but being...
The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Philladelphia 76ers Monday night by a final score of 105-96. The Bucks moved to 4-2, and the Sixers fell to 4-3.
The Bucks made their first 8 shots of the game. Then they started turning the ball over like crazy for a stretch spanning the first and second quarter, and let the Sixers hang around. Then the Bucks went on a run, Jennings caught...
Personally, I met Drew Gooden a couple of years ago when covering the Cleveland Cavaliers and overall, he's a stand-up individual along with being a quality NBA player. However, when this recent photo surfaced of Drew's head...it needed to be posted on this fine website: (Courtesy of Slanch Report)
Brandon Jennings led the Milwaukee Bucks with 33 points and 8 assists in their 105-96 victory past the Philadelphia 76ers Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center.
Jrue Holiday was simply amazing on the Sixers end with 25 points. But the real story was Jason Richardson coming back from an ankle injury to contribute 20 points and an insane 360 slam at the end of the first half...
INDIANAPOLIS -- Who needs rest after playing a triple-overtime game the night before? Evidently not the Toronto Raptors, who edged the Indiana Pacers 74-72 Tuesday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse despite getting outscored 14-5 in the fourth quarter. "Our defense carried us," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said. "Defense will travel well. If your defense is not rolling, you...

Less than two weeks ago, the Indiana Pacers opened 2012-13 by beating the Toronto Raptors in the waning seconds.
