Bulls star point guard Derrick Rose could soon be going through full-contact drills in practice. Coach Tom Thibodeau says Rose is ''very close'' to doing just that and it'll be ''the next step'' in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Asked if it could happen this week, Thibodeau responded, ''Yeah - it could.'' Is it scheduled to happen this week? The Bulls' coach repeated, ''It could.'' Thibodeau says Rose will have to go through full-contact drills ''for an extended amount of time'' and that he won't be playing after ''one or two days of contact.'' While Rose inches closer to making his season debut, the Bulls were without Luol Deng (sore right hamstring) Monday against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Derrick Rose Possibly To Return In February

ESPN Chicago first reported the injury timetable for Derrick Rose’s possible return in February. Rose will be ready for full contact practice by the end of the week, coach Thibodeau revealed. The Bulls have fared well without their MVP player, and are currently locked in at the 5th seed tied with the Brooklyn Nets. Rose participated in some ‘light’ practice today, which comes...

Bulls G Rose steps up contact work in practice

Injured Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose continued to participate in more contact work Tuesday during practice. "Derrick went to the next step today, did more contact," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau told the Chicago Tribune. "But everyone has to be patient." The Bulls still project a February return for the former NBA Most Valuable Player as he continues his rehab...

Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said shelved superstar Derrick Rose could begin practicing with full contact next week while recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee. The 24-year-old Rose, a three-time NBA All-Star who became the youngest player ever to earn the Most Valuable Player award in 2011, suffered the severe injury on April 28 during Game 1 of the 2012 Eastern...

He’s been cleared for more contact, so we went to the next step today…It’s going to be a while. It’s the next step in the rehab,” he continued. “He’s playing more, he’s practicing more.” “In practice, you’re trying to get it as close to a game-like condition as you can, with the understanding that there’s nothing like a game. Go ahead and raise your hand if you thought the Chicago Bulls would own the fifth-best record in the Eastern Conference nearing halfway mark of this season knowing reigning league MVP Derrick Rose was on the mend? Funny tweets about Mike D’Antoni and the Lakers

Last night the Derrick Rose and Luol Deng-less Chicago Bulls beat the Los Angeles Lakers as Kirk Hinrich went HAM for a season high 22 points, 7 boards, and 8 dimes. Yes, Kirk freaking Hinrich playing like old school Grant Hill. When Kirk Hinrich is scoring more points than Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, or Pau Gasol you better call John McClane because stuff is about to blow up. As...

Joakim Noah Benched Late In Bulls OT Loss To Grizzlies

Joakim Noah, the heart and soul of the Chicago Bulls, sat on the bench for the final 22:53 of Saturday night’s 85-82 overtime loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Why? “Just a coach’s decision,” Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said. So was Thibodeau sending a message to Noah? I don’t think there’s any doubt about that. Thibodeau said after the game that he was just riding...
