It has been a while since we heard about Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose and his road to recovery after suffering a horrific left knee injury during last season's playoffs. He has been documenting his recovery through some adidas ads and now it seems he has begun to cut on his surgically repaired knee which should be seen as a huge step in the right direction for him and the Bulls. However, coach Tom Thibodeau says Rose is not coming back to the court anytime soon and even said his All-Star guard may not even return to the court at all this season. "Everything is going according to plan," Thibodeau said. "He's not ahead of schedule. He's not behind schedule. He's exactly where he should be." "The rehab has to be the priority," Thibodeau said. Without Rose, the Bulls are 4-3 this season with Nate Robinson, Kirk Hinrich, and rookie Marquis Teague holding down the point-guard spot while Rose has been out. Regardless, this has to be a great sign for Bulls fans and coaching staff. This team is a good squad but without Rose, there will be no chance they can make it to the NBA Finals or go deep in the playoffs. The Eastern Conference is loaded with great point guards such as Deron Williams, Rajon Rondo, Brandon Jennings, and Jason Kidd to name a few and Chicago will need Rose to counter these elite guards. However, the team should not rush Derrick back to the court. Long term benefits definitely outweigh the short term benefits in this case. [follow]
