Last season, the talk of the NBA surprisingly wasn’t the Miami Heat, but it was Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks. When crunch time came by, they strolled down to South Beach and Linsanity got entirely seriously shut down while the Knicks got their butts whooped by the Heat themselves. It was worse than most people imagined, because not only did the Knicks suffer a confidence setback after that, it provided a pretty nice blueprint on how to stop Lin. Yes, not any team can shut him down — he is a fantastic player — but teams around the association really have the tools they need to slow him down…a lot. Now Lin is with the Houston Rockets, and he is having a somewhat decent season alongside All-Star James Harden. The Rockets are 5-7 as they host New York Friday night. Lin admits he isn’t satisfied with his performance. “They are playing really well and I’m not playing nearly as well as I wish I was. I’ve been exposed a lot early in the season and have a lot to work on. I’ve started 30 something games,” Lin said. “I’m young, it’s something I have to keep in my mind. I felt better before, it’s just a process.” This season, Lin has only shot about 33-percent, including the 22.9 from behind-the-arc. While he has cut down on his turnovers, he is only averaging 10.7 PPG in contrast to last season’s 19.6 PPG. Yes, I just mentioned it: teams have a blueprint as to slow him down, but there is something else to it than just that. Lin is now having to run the show in Houston. He has to make big-time decisions and he has to create some serious plays. Back in New York, he was just playing in Mike D’Antoni‘s system, a system where there are countless open looks on the floor for the team. It was a system where plays were already on the floor for you. Lin had so much spacing in New York, it was just nine more points-per-game easier for him over there. It’s not all his fault, but he does have room to improve. He can get his explosiveness back, but he needs time to mature. Like he said, he is young. He has a great basketball IQ. His decision-making will improve. Original article: Can Jeremy Lin Succeed with the Rockets?©2012 FootBasket. Jeremy Lin admits he’s been exposed this season

Jeremy Lin is getting ready to play the New York Knicks for the first time since leaving them during the offseason to sign with the Houston Rockets. Naturally, he’s facing plenty of questions from the New York media about his time with the team and his departure. His first game against the Knicks also marks a perfect time to reevaluate the Knicks’ decision to let him go, which...

Rockets' rout of Knicks not about Linsanity

HOUSTON If something can be remarkable specifically because it was unremarkable, then Jeremy Lin was remarkable Friday night. Because he wasn't. Make sense? Lin had a nice game in his first game against the New York Knicks, a 131-103 Rockets win at Toyota Center in Houston. He scored 13 points, had three assists, four turnovers and one steal. "His swag was good,"...

Lin & Rockets roll behind Harden's 33

James Harden scored 33 points and Chandler Parsons added a career-high 31 Friday night to help the Houston Rockets coast to a 131-103 victory over the New York Knicks. Jeremy Lin added 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists for Houston in his first game against his former team. The Rockets entered the third quarter up by 12, and scored 10 straight points later in the quarter...

Knicks-Rockets Preview

Jeremy Lin became a global phenomenon with the New York Knicks last season. Now, "Linsanity" has faded, and his struggles with the Houston Rockets is partly why. Lin will try to bounce back from one of his worst performances of the season in order to help the Rockets continue their dominance of the Knicks in his first meeting with his former team Friday night. Lin was...

Knicks will face Jeremy Lin for the first time tonight

The Knicks will be taking on Jeremy Lin who is now on the Rockets for the first time this season later on tonight at 8:00 pm in Houston. But if Jeremy Lin was a Knick today, he thinks himself and Melo would've worked out well which nobody is buying into it. Last season, Carmelo Anthony and Jeremy Lin both struggled working together as they tried to make it work, but it didn...

Rockets Dominate Knicks 131-103

Jeremy Lin finally faced his former team the New York Knicks Friday night, and came out on the winning end of a high octane offensive game for the Houston Rockets. While the “Linsanity” reunion was the headlining act, Rockets forward Chandler Parsons stole the spotlight early. Parsons ended the night with a career-high 31 points, while adding [...]

Royce White Goes On Twitter Attack on Adrian Wojnarowski

The situation between Royce White and the Houston Rockets has been pretty confusing these past couple of weeks, to say the least. White has gone some big Twitter rages sometimes, and it’s really weird to see. Although things are seeming to get a little better as both sides recently met, it doesn’t stop White from doing what he does on Twitter. Even though he has commented...

Rockets’ Jeremy Lin Thinks He Will Be An All-Star Someday

Jeremy Lin blew up over a strong month last season in New York, and that catapulted in to a pretty good 3 year $25 million dollar deal in Houston. Lin is in Houston now, and coincidence or not, Lin is now in the same place that allowed Yao Ming to capture All Star vote year [...] [[ This is a content summary only. Knicks suffer a real bad loss to the Rockets 131-103

The Houston Rockets (6-7) beat the New York Knicks (8-3) 131-103, last night at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX. This was an unwatchable if you were a Knicks fan. No defense, no sense of urgency and no shot for the Knicks winning this game. The defense got exposed by giving up easy layups, easy three pointers and getting beat in the paint. This was Mike Woodson's worse loss...

Day 25: Where Chandler Parsons Is Not a Waiver Wire Pick Up

First, let’s just get this video out the way since it was on the national news this morning… your Mom might be asking you about, so you’ll need to know. I think YouTube works in all countries, but just in case: It’s Dwight Howard (in an ugly ass all white uniform) with Carmelo (in what appears to be an all orange uniform), Joe Johnson in all black (which actually works for...

Rockets knock out Knicks

HOUSTON -- Even for a team ranked second in the NBA in pace, the Houston Rockets exceeded all expectations against the New York Knicks on Friday night. Keyed by the unconscious shooting of Chandler Parsons in the first quarter, the free-throw marksmanship of James Harden in the second, and another knockout rally in the third period, the Rockets shot the lights out at Toyota Center...

NBA News: Bynum shut down "indefinitely." Lin likely all-star starter

A couple news items from around the Association this Sunday morning. Looks like the Andrew Bynum trade continues to get worse for the 76ers (and more of a highway robbery for the Lakers) as Philly's GM is now admitting that Bynum will be out for a lengthy period. This is confirmation from our report earlier this week that Bynum is likely out for the season.''We don&...

The Starting Lineup: Attempting To Summarize Complete Insanity

Against Chris Paul and the Clippers, OKC elected to go with the same cross match that completely changed the course of the 2012 Western Conference Finals. The strategy worked once again. With the long, spindly arms of Thabo Sefolosha seemingly waiting for him everywhere he tried to go, Chris Paul struggled as mightily as Tony Parker did late last spring.  The Clippers fought hard...
