Trade Street Post:
Since becoming disabled I’ve had the honor of writing the recap articles each Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In healthier times I would travel to Atlanta and participate in the annual march once even having the sublime honor of walking alongside Dr. King’s widow Coretta. There is a lot going on today for sports fans, not the least of which is the NBA-announced approval of the Kings to a consortium of investors in Seattle. Congrats to the city of grunge and liquid sunshine. Your Sonics are coming home! Us Carolinians can relate to your joy. Our second team (and quite possibly soon-to-be our second Hornets team) hits the court today to take on the Houston Rockets. Don’t let their seven game losing streak mislead you. Houston is second in the NBA in scoring in the paint – one of this year’s Bobcats model’s most glaring defensive weaknesses. I also have a stellar record of writing Bobcats recaps in losing efforts. Here’s how it all unfolded at Time Warner…

BEST OF MAXIM
Many NBA prospects look forward to the jet-setting lifestyle that comes with being an NBA player, but Rockets rookie Royce White was not one of them. White, the 16th overall pick in last summer’s NBA draft, has not played a game for Houston this season because of an anxiety disorder that makes air travel difficult for him.
White, who the Rockets suspended on January 6 for...
HBO's acclaimed Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel returns on Tuesday at 10 PM, and the main selling point of this month's edition is Bernard Goldberg's interview with Houston Rockets forward Royce White. This is White's first televised interview since he was suspended by the team due to his refusal to take part in practice or games until his demands related to his mental...
CHANGE OF PLANS
Rumors have been swirling that the Grizzlies are looking to trade Rudy Gay, but one report says they could keep him and trade Zach Randolph.
Royce White is set to appear in a one-on-one interview with Bernard Goldberg on Tuesday January 22 to talk about why he and the Rockets have been unable to coexist in his rookie season. Here’s a click where White argues how there should not be a difference between a physical illness and a mental illness in sports and how it relates to game-time decisions:
It took a lot of thought choosing this season’s Executive of the Year and there were two finalists, the Houston Rockets’ Daryl Morey and the New York Knicks’ Glen Grunwald. Both executives have done amazing things this year, but in completely different circumstances, based on their team’s needs. Morey traded for a star and signed two key players, while adding solid role...
(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By CHRIS DUNCAN AP Sports Writer The Houston Rockets have had a demanding start to 2013, with nine of their first 12 games on the road. Shaquille O’Neal was able to dominate every center whom he faced during his career except for one: Hakeem Olajuwon.
The Dream turned 50 on Monday, so TNT’s “Inside the NBA” ran a tribute to the Houston Rockets legend. Following the piece, which showed Olajuwon mentoring and training select big men, Shaq was full of praise for the man who outplayed him.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- James Harden scored 29 points and hit all 10 of his free throws in the fourth quarter as the Houston Rockets rallied to snap a seven-game losing streak, beating the Charlotte Bobcats 100-94 Monday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - One way or the other, a losing streak had to come to an end on Monday afternoon. It wound up being the Houston Rockets who were able to snap a seven-game losing streak, as they rallied to beat the Charlotte Bobcats 100-94 and hand the Bobcats a franchise-record 15th straight home loss at Time Warner Cable Arena. James Harden fought through a rough day from the...
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - James Harden scored 29 points, including 10 free throws in the final six minutes, as the Houston Rockets rallied to beat the Charlotte Bobcats 100-94 on Monday afternoon. Harden was just 5-of-20 from the field, but found a way to get to the line and was 19-for-21 from the stripe. He was a perfect 10-of-10 from the line down the stretch, including two with 40.2...
Kemba Walker's second-year surge continued Saturday night. The Charlotte Bobcats guard double-doubled with 14 points and 10 assists. The former UCONN Huskie added a three-pointer, four steals and four rebounds.
His Achilles heel continues to be his shooting. He made just six-of-17 shots in a loss to the Sacramento Kings Saturday and he's making 43.1 percent of his shots...
Nobody would think the 26-13 Memphis Grizzlies would be willing to trade their team, especially while being fourth in a tough Western Conference. The rumors are swirling that small forward Rudy Gay was on the trading block and now rumors are strong that it's power forward Zach Randolph who's on the trading black instead.
According to Hoopsworld's Alex Kennedy, the...
