The New York Knicks have struggled with how they have handled the often injured Amar’e Stoudemire. Despite what many pundits have said, the Knicks flagship artist Carmelo Anthony does not prefer to play with Stoudemire on the bench. Anthony told ESPN that he is of the mindset that its hard to watch the big man suffer. “As a friend, it’s hard for me to sit back and act like it doesn’t bother me because I know how hard of a worker he is [and] I know the time that he puts in the gym to train and rehab,” Anthony said Tuesday. “To see him go forward and then take some steps back every time, it’s just sad.” Melo pondered out loud on the chances on whether or not he would ever get to go on a run with Stoudemire while he is healthy. “Yeah, I think about it. I think about [it] sometimes,” Anthony said. “He was one of the reasons why I wanted to come to New York. So for me not to have that chance, the opportunity to get a full season in and get a rhythm going with him — it’s not something I thought would happen.” The stats state that the Knicks perform at a higher level when both men are not on the court. Anthony makes a good point in that time and luck has never afforded them to get into a rhythm that two dominant players can have on the court by midseason. Is it a pipe dream? Is it a bad idea? Or should Melo just take the reins and run with what could be his last season as a Knick. The post Carmelo Anthony: Amar’e Stoudemire situation “sad” appeared first on Players View.
