Carmelo Anthony was in good spirits while talking to the media today. And who could blame him? Melo and the Knicks are up 2-0 in the best of seven series against the Celtics which resumes Friday in Boston. Anthony was in a rather chipper mood as he talked about listening to Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. He even used the words “super duper” when describing how delighted he would be if they Knicks swept the Celtics. Melo on sweeping BOS 2 yrs after BOS swept: “If that happens I’ll be super duper happy excited…I cant lie. But I kno thats gonna be tough” — Mark Hale (@HaleMark) April 25, 2013 Melo then showed his “mellow” side as he talked about drinking wine by the fireplace during Christmas time and listening to legends, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. Carmelo Anthony quote of day:“I listen to Tony Bennett when I’m sitting home drinking wine by the fire at Christmastime.” #Knicks — Barbara Barker (@meanbarb) April 25, 2013 More Melo:“I listen to Frank Sinatra a lot. I love Frank, man.Keeps me calm. I’m already a mellow guy, but it keeps me super calm.” — Barbara Barker (@meanbarb) April 25, 2013 I could be wrong, but I’m guessing nobody had Carmelo pegged as a Tony Bennett/Frank Sinatra fan. Carmelo Anthony did it again last night by dropping 34 on the Boston Celtics to lead his team to a 87-71 victory Tuesday night. His performance is just further proof that LeBron James is not the only stud in this league and may not run away with the MVP this year as expected.

It’s such an exciting time to be a New York Knickerbockers fan. The Knicks hold a 2-0 lead over the Celtics in the 1st round, J.R. Smith was recently named NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year, and Carmelo Anthony is playing the best and most fearless basketball of his career. These things have directly led to the success of this year’s team. Even Coach Woodson...
It is sort of amazing, given Kevin Garnett‘s reputation for being a bit handsy on defense, that he only fouled out of one game all season and was whistled for at least five personal fouls just five times. In 68 games this season, Garnett was called for just 154 fouls, or an average of less than 2.3 fouls per game.
Think about that, Celtics fans, next time you start to whine about...
Knicks power forward, Amar’e Stoudemire who had been sidelined for six weeks after undergoing surgery on his right knee has recently stated that his return to the team is possible for the second round of the 2013 NBA Playoffs. With the Knicks’ current 2-0 series lead over the Boston Celtics, it appears that this could likely become a reality Coach Woodson and the Knicks could...
BOSTON — Carmelo Anthony was so reserved in complimenting Raymond Felton that the Knicks point guard, seated less than two feet away, could not help laughing. Felton had just finished dicing up the Celtics in a decisive playoff victory, and the best Anthony could manage to say was that his teammate’s 15-point, 10-assist performance was “what he’s supposed to do.”
For the Knicks, winning game one of their playoff series with the Celtics was simply about beginning to take control. Winning game two meant that New York began to silence the nay-sayers who believed the Knicks should still be considered underdogs.Despite getting swept by the Celtics in the first round of the playoffs just two seasons ago, the tables have now turned, and the Knicks...

We talked earlier today about the New York Knicks having a statement win…tonight they obliged, thrashing the Boston Celtics 87-71 in a performance that left no doubt who the superior team is in this series. Madison Square Garden was rocking like it hasn’t been in over a decade as the Knicks overcame a sluggish second quarter to run Boston out of the building in the second half...
Down 2-0, Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics return home tonight to take on Carmelo Anthony's New York Knicks. So far this series the second half hasn't been too kind to the Celtics as they've managed to score just 48 combined points between each game's third and fourth quarters. While Boston has played really well in spurts, they've yet to put together a complete...
