The bad blood between Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett didn’t last long.
Last night the New York Knicks beat the Boston Celtics 89-86. After a verbal spat and a bus showdown with 20 something security guards on standby, desperate measures were put into place to ensure another Honey Nut Cheerio saga wouldn’t transpire.
However last night was the polar opposite.
Maybe they’re working on their relationship considering they’ll be teammates during All Stars, or perhaps Garnett is keeping all of his anger pinned up for the return of Ray Allen and the Miami Heat. Regardless of the reason both men are ready to move pass the incident.
“No grudges between me and KG. Whatever happened, happened. We spoke about it and its over.”
Carmelo responded to last night game as he should have during the first match up between the two teams. He silenced the Boston Celtics and Kevin Garnett by showing up late in the stretch and helping his team get another win.
After the game he even signed a box of Honey Nut Cheerios and took a picture with the box for a fan. I’m glad to see him be a good sport about it instead of following the fan to his car with 20 security guards to talk it out.
BEST OF MAXIM
BOSTON -- Carmelo Anthony and his Knicks teammates didn't know what to expect from the Celtics crowd in the first game between the two teams since Anthony and Garnett had their little spat on Jan. 7 in New York. But what the New Yorkers DID know and always know is that Anthony has to score for the team to win. And that's what he did to lead the Knicks to an 89-86 win and...
For the first time since 2006, the Knicks came away victorious in Boston on Thursday night. While such a win puts an end to such a frustrating and traumatizing losing streak, perhaps it also symbolizes why this a season is one more different than any other in recent years for the Knicks.Clearly an NBA powerhouse over the past few seasons, the Celtics have always seemed to have New...
The Knicks employ two security guards that are with the team at all times while Carmelo Anthony's bodyguard occasionally travels to road games.
BOSTON -- The first meeting between Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett since their nasty encounter on Jan. 7 in New York turned into just another night of misery for the floundering Celtics. Anthony, suspended for a game for going out to the Boston bus after Garnett's alleged comments, scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the New York Knicks to a 89-86 victory...
The rumor spreading around after the Celtics defeated the Knicks back in New York was that Kevin Garnett told Carmelo his wife tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios. This provoked Melo to wait outside the team bus to confront Garnett, an act he was later suspended for.
That rumor was obviously hilarious and, true or not, it turned into a national story, and soon after, material items....

Knicks Pull Out Hotly Contested Game in Boston
The Knicks were able to pull out a much needed victory against a division rival tonight in the Boston Celtics, winning in Boston for the first time since November 24th, 2006, snapping a 13-game losing streak. It was a surprisingly quiet game for the ramifications, especially...
Was going to wait until tomorrow to post this, but the hell with it. I love this video from Golden Hoops. This is a short clip entitled “Kevin Garnett: The Love For the Game”. It has the perfect blend of video & audio to capture the intense emotion and unwavering spirit of the man known as The Big Ticket.
Pre-Game News and Notes
Knicks vs Celtics
The Knicks and Celtics will play for the second time this season with both teams stuck in a quagmire looking to turn things around. The Knicks have struggled since Raymond Felton went down with an injury and the Celtics have lost four games in a row. Tonight will be a playoff intensity-type game as the teams are rivals and don’t like...

Kevin Garnett: 24 Points, 10 Rebounds
Kevin Garnett gave us a great performance tonight, and it was unfortunately wasted. He rebounded well, shot well, and was only slowed down by fouls/minutes. He got gassed at the end, and his last two fouls were stupid...
Miami Heat @ Boston Celtics 1:00 ET 1/27
The Celtics are in the midst of their worst losing streak (six straight) since Kevin Garnett joined the team in the 2007-08 season. As exhibited by their double-overtime loss to the Hawks on Friday night where they blew a 27-point lead, this team is finding new and creative ways to lose. The prevailing buzz states that the C’s have hit rock...
