The Cleveland Cavaliers have something to cheer for once again. Point guard Kyrie Irving, who went down with a broken finger, is expected to return to action tomorrow against the Los Angeles Lakers. He was previously expected to make a return next week. Jason Lloyd, a Cavaliers beat writer, tweeted the following.Kyrie returned to practice today, expected to play tmrw vs Lakers. #Cavs— Jason Lloyd (@JasonLloydABJ) December 10, 2012Former Rookie of the Year Irving has been phenomenal is his two years in the league. After making his mark last season, Irving has improved in several facets of his game. His points per game has risen to 22.9. He is averaging 5.6 assists, 3.7 rebounds to go with 1.1 steals per game. However, his efficiency has taken a slight dip, as he now shooting 46.3% for the season as opposed to 46.9% from last season. Not a huge drop, and it could be a result of the lack of talent surrounding Irving. To show just how talent-less the team appears to be without Irving, ProBasketballTalk from NBC has brought up some statistics.Without Irving the Cavaliers offense has been a mess — they have shot 40 percent as a team their last 10 games and scored an average of 97 points per 100 possessions. That’s been worse in the last 5 games, where it fell to 92.1 on 38.3 percent shooting. For some comparison, the Wizards have the worst offense in the NBA this season at 94.7.Oh, and the team is 1-9 in Irving's absence. To make matters worse, promising rookie Dion Waiters is also injured, and as far as the public knows, he will not make his return with Kyrie.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? Cavaliers Welcome Kyrie Irving Back as they Host the Los Angeles Lakers

Life without Kyrie Irving has not been fun. It was hard. How hard? The Cleveland Cavaliers (4-17, 13th in the East) went 2-9 without him. Sure, the Cavaliers are 2-8 with him, so there’s no evidence of the team being worse without him. But if you watched the 11 games he missed, you know the truth. The Cavaliers score 108.3 points per 100 possessions with Kyrie on the floor. They...

Kyrie Irving had missed the Cleveland Cavaliers' last 11 games with a fractured finger.  In that time, the Cavaliers often looked hopeless.  They lost nine of those 11 games.  However, irving was back last night as the Cavs took on the Los Angeles Lakers.  And he made an instant difference. In his first game back, Irving played the second-most minutes (38) of anyone on the...

Irving's return sparks Cavs past Lakers

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers ran into one of the all-time greats. But not even Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant's season-high 42 points could ruin the return of Cavs guard Kyrie Irving on Tuesday at Quicken Loans Arena. Box Score: Lakers 94, Cavaliers 100

What a night for Cleveland sports. First, Kyrie Irving came back for the Cavaliers. Then, while the game was going on, the Indians made what appears to be a stellar trade. And then, just for good measure, the Cavaliers beat the Lakers. It was evident from the beginning just how much Irving was missed. Kyrie wasted no time in making his impact felt and the Cavaliers opened up a huge...

Cavaliers (4-17) vs. Lakers (9-12) - Game 22

OPENING TIP Kyrie Irving is back, and man, thats just great. Dion Waiters is not, and man, that sort of stinks. After all, Waiters is the Cavs second-leading scorer, a developing rookie, a guy who scores 20 a game when the Cavs win. OK, thats only been four (out of 21) times, but still. The Cavs need Waiters, Waiters needs playing time, and the Lakers are in town. And guess who...

Cavaliers-Pacers Preview

The Cleveland Cavaliers are bringing a 14-game division losing streak into a matchup with a team they haven't beaten much of late. There is some hope for the Cavaliers since Kyrie Irving has returned heading into Wednesday night's road contest with the Indiana Pacers. Cleveland (5-17) hasn't beaten a Central Division foe since a 101-100 win over Detroit on Feb. 21....

Cavs' plan of attack painful at moment

CLEVELAND -- Five straight. Nine of 10. Fifteen of 17. If there's one constant this season, it's that the Cavaliers are finding ways not to win. They've done it while trailing for an entire game. They've done it while leading late in the fourth quarter. They've done it by keeping things close and by getting blown out (although, in their defense, not much of the...

Lakers-Cavaliers Preview

While the Los Angeles Lakers' offense has improved since Mike D'Antoni took over as coach, those strides seem to be coming at the cost of a defense which continues to struggle. The Lakers are still searching for answers as they begin a four-game road trip Tuesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who hope Kyrie Irving's return will help them snap a five-game skid...
