Re-signing Alonzo Gee doesnt turn the Cavaliers into title contenders, but it does enable them to stick with the plan of becoming a young, athletic team on the rise.
Gee, who finished last season as the starting small forward, entered the summer as a restricted free agent. On Monday, Cavs general manager Chris Grant announced Gee and the team had struck a deal.
While terms were...
The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed free agent swingman Alonzo Gee to a three-year, $9.75 million contract.
Gee, 25, had a breakout season for the Cavs in 2012, averaging 10.6 points and 5.1 rebounds in 63 games. The 6-foot-6 Gee made 31 starts and was the Cavs' most improved player. Coach Byron Scott was impressed with Gee's development and was hoping the team would be...
The Cleveland Cavaliers managed only 21 wins in 66 games last season, but never let it be said that their marketing department is not filled with winners. The Cavs promotional schedule this season is chock-full of events and giveaways that would make even LeBron James wish he were at Quicken Loans Arena. The highlight is either the Mayan Calendar Survivors Night on Dec. 21 or the...
After months of negotiation the Cleveland Cavaliers and guard/forward Alonzo Gee agreed to a 3 year deal totaling just under $10 million, with the 3rd year not gauranteed.
The Cavs remained committed to resigning Gee, repeatedly saying he was their number one priority in free agency.
“From the start of free agency, we made it clear that re-signing Alonzo was important to us, and...

The ink is dry on Chris Grant's biggest free agent signing of the off-season. Alonzo Gee will be dunking in Cleveland for two more years, maybe even three. In a deal structured to reward Gee for his development, while at the same time not over-committing in terms of years, Alonzo is scheduled to earn $3.5 million in 2012-13, $3.25 in 2013-14 and another $3.25 in 2014-15 if the...
The Cleveland Cavaliers announced that they will offer one of the most bizarre — if not coolest — promotional giveaways at their Dec. 5 game against the Chicago Bulls — a bobblehead replica of the leg lamp from the holiday movie classic "A Christmas Story."
The 1983 retelling of Jean Shepherd's short stories featured the famous left leg covered in a fishnet stocking...
The Cleveland Cavaliers have reportedly agreed to terms with free agent swingman Alonzo Gee as well as undrafted free agent forward Kevin Jones.
