NBA Injury News:
Anthony Bennett, the Cleveland Cavaliers first-round selection in the recent NBA Draft, continues to recover from surgery to repair a torn labrum. Still, Cavs coach Mike Brown told Bob Finnan of The News-Herald that he expects the rookie to be ready to return by training camp. While Bennett is expected to be healthy, it will be interesting to see how Brown uses the big man and gets him playing time at an already crowded position. Brown told Finnan that, while he may use Bennett as a small forward in the future, he views him as “strictly” a power forward right now."He's a ‘4,'" Brown said in a telephone interview from Las Vegas. "That's where he's going to play for us. Way, way, way down the road, we might try him at ‘3.' Now, he's strictly a ‘4.' "As such, it could be difficult for Bennett to get many minutes, especially early in the season, considering Cleveland already has five other players than can man the 4 position, including Tristan Thompson, Anderson Varejao, Kevin Jones, Earl Clark and Tyler Zeller.Still, Brown made it sound like he had a plan to get the talented big man playing time once he returns healthy."I got it figured," Brown said. "His ability to score in a lot of different ways is intriguing. His explosiveness is intriguing. His standing reach is higher than lot of guys playing power forward in the league, including Kevin Love. He's got long arms. There's a desire to want to be better. He has a lot of upside."Follow @hoopsinjurynews

The Cavaliers’ Summer League team beat San Antonio in Las Vegas today 72-66 to advance in the 22 team Summer League Tournament.

Andrew Bynum was introduced by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday with a handshake and a smile.
This is the second-consecutive year that Bynum has done this dance.
It is the second time that he has publicly stated that he will be healthy enough to play a full season of basketball.
Last season, the Philadelphia 76ers gave Bynum $16.9 million and he did not give them a second’s worth...

It feels so much like deja vu I as I sit and watch a city get euphoric over the signing of Andrew Bynum.
A year ago in Philadelphia, the sign and trade acquisition of Andrew Bynum had the city buzzing with thoughts of a dominant center, and a historic playoff run.
Instead, Bynum missed every game of the season, collected over $16 million, and spent an entire year trolling 76ers fans...
INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- Andrew Bynum smiled and spoke confidently. Thats probably more than Bynum did last season with the Philadelphia 76ers, and for the Cleveland Cavaliers, its a pretty good start.

The Cavs are hoping the...
If all goes well with Andrew Bynum, the Cleveland Cavaliers wont need to worry about LeBron James.
Not that the Cavs would ignore James should he opt out of his contract and become a free agent next summer. No team would.
Its just that if Bynum can stay healthy, and All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving continues his rise, the Cavs will be desperate for no one.
Bynum met with reporters...
Hopefully everyone got their binge drinking and hot dog
eating out of the way so we can get back to business. The summer has slowed down for the NBA with
players taking time off. A few more
signings are happening, mostly restricted free agents, but all of the big names
have signed already. We will take a look at a few of the stories happening this
past week and some opinions...
With the return of head coach Mike Brown to the Cleveland Cavaliers, we can safely assume that he will be preaching defense to many of the team’s young stars.
After yesterday’s Cavaliers Summer League victory over the Spurs, second-year guard Dion Waiters was being interviewed about his performance.
Keep an eye behind him as Mike decides to videobomb him and praise him for his defense:
Free agent center Andrew Bynum officially signed his 2 year, $24M deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers today, but that wasn’t the real story. The real story is what Bynum said the status of his knee rehab was. ESPN reports: Bynum sat out the entire 2012-2013 season with Philadelphia because of knee injuries, but said he will [...]
