The Cleveland Cavaliers got a little lucky tonight according to the head coach Byron Scott, Tristan Thompson and Kyrie Irving both had outstanding performances to help the Cleveland Cavaliers pick up their 12th win of the season. Even though the rooks played well tonight it came down to the final moments of the game that decided the outcome. Kyrie Irving was going for the game winning basket when he was fouled and sent to the line. The Cavaliers were trialing at the time with .4 left on the clock. Irving hit the first shot to tie the game at 92, then cool as one could be Irving sent the second shot down to give his Cleveland Cavaliers a one point lead. The Kings would call a time out then when they in-bounded the ball it was a shot for the win. The ball hit the rim but the officials said the clock was started too early and gave the Kings a reply. Again the Kings went for the winning shot when time expired and the Cleveland Cavaliers got the win. Byron Scott said in the post game ...

Welcome Back, Tristan Thompson

It seems like just last week when we were rolling out the red carpeted box score for first-overall selection Kyrie Irving. Missing three games thanks to a wayward Dwyane Wade kneecap, Irving returned with a vengence and consistency we have come to appreciate over the first two months of his rookie campaign. The juxtaposition between he and fellow freshman Tristan Thompson — aside...

Thompson shows Cavs' forward thinking

CLEVELAND -- Anyone who wonders what in the name of J.J. Hickson the Cavaliers did in last summer's NBA draft only needed to see Sundays game at The Q. It ended with the Cavs pulling out a 93-92 victory over the Sacramento Kings -- a verdict that wasnt reached until Kyrie Irving hit a pair of free throws with 0.4 seconds left. Irving, of course, was the No. 1 overall pick...

Box Score: Cavaliers 93, Kings 92

Kyrie Irving did it again, folks. This time, it was two free throws with 0.4 seconds remaining after a bone-headed foul by the Kings’ Tyreke Evans, but Irving put the Cavaliers ahead in the waning moments, as he led the team with 23 points in the wine and gold’s 93-92 victory in The Q. The Cavs won this game despite shooting just 36% as a team and scoring 18 fourth quarter points...

Casspi concentrating on defense for Cavs

Cavaliers forward Omri Casspi admitted the transition to Cleveland from Sacramento has been more difficult than he thought it was going to be, but he _ and the Cavs _ are confident things will work out.

Former King Casspi enjoying life as Cav

CLEVELAND – It didn't take long for Omri Casspi to become a fan favorite in Sacramento.

For Cavs, trading Hickson had to be done

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- Omri Casspi may not exactly be lighting it up for the Cavaliers (far from it), but you can say this much with a certain degree of confidence: Casspi is playing better than J.J. Hickson. You remember Hickson, dont you? Hes the 6-foot-9 power forward who spent the first three years of his NBA career in Cleveland. He was considered young and athletic with a huge...

Omri Casspi's Player Mailbox

Though he's one of the squad's newcomers, Omri Casspi has been one this season's steadiest players. Along with Antawn Jamison, Casspi is the only Cavalier to start every game this season. You asked the questions and Omri answered in this week's Player Mailbox.

Trying To Move On After Cavaliers Get Smashed By Heat Again

The game itself was a complete let-down. It was boring, there was no real effort coming from the Cleveland side, and as soon as it started it was over. After Dwyane Wade made a free throw six minutes in, the Heat led 21-2. It ended 111-87, with the Cavaliers down 24, and the loudest cheers of the night from the home crowd came following each time the Cavs battled back to momentarily...
