Waiting For Next Year:
It was poetic. It was fluid. It even led to a Byron Scott smile. One placed roughly one foot above a set of crossed arms, but a smile is most definitely a smile.
The first quarter featured a young Cavalier team trading largely in slop, ultimately resulting in double-digit turnovers and a few head-scratching moments vis a vis extra, perhaps unnecessary pass attempts. But once this ten-man rotation had even more time to gel, perhaps aided by a post-first quarter pep talk from Scott, fans were graced with flashes of what the Wine and Gold can become on the offensive end. With roughly seven minutes to go in the third frame, the team’s first unit – on a night that was largely dominated by the “reserves” – flawlessly executed back-to-back plays that included nary a dribble.
Rooted in transition due to a tag-team defense of a high pick-and-roll by Anderson Varejao and Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers point guard was merely the first domino to fall in a set of passes and screens. A look to the...
BEST OF MAXIM
19-year old point guard Kyrie Irving and 20-year old power forward Tristan Thompson are off to fast starts for the Cavs. Irving has not shot the ball too well (33.3%) as he is 7 of 21 from the floor, but, he is still playing solid overall basketball. Irving has played in 2 games (both starts) for the Cavs so far this year and he is averaging 23.0 minutes, 10.0 points, 3.5 rebounds...
Its not the end of the story, but at least the finish line is looking a little better for Manny Harris.
You probably know most of the details by now. Harris is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard who played 54 games for the Cavaliers last season. He was waived last week, cleared waivers, then signed with the D-Leagues Canton Charge on Wednesday. The Charge are the Cavs minor-league affiliate...
The Cleveland Cavaliers (1-1) head into Indianapolis tonight to take on the Indiana Pacers (2-0). For the Cavaliers, this will be their first test against a very good basketball team. Looking to build their first win streak of the season, the Cavaliers will need to not only match the effort they gave against the Pistons, but they will have to likely play even better.
The Pacers are...
The Cavaliers looked like a new team last night. It was a real team effort as 10 players had at least 20 minutes on the floor for the Cavs. The Cavs shot 57.1% from the floor and they outrebounded the Pistons 40-26. Samardo Samuels (17 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist) and Ramon Sessions (16 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal) led the way for the Cavs off the bench last...

Coach Byron Scott likes what he's seen from Alonzo Gee: Cleveland Cavaliers Insider.
Byron Scott told the Cleveland media before the Cavaliers opener on Monday that his decision to start the number one overall pick out of Duke in his first NBA game, over veteran PG Ramon Sessions, became "easy" once he decided on who he'd initially surround Kyrie Irving with in that Cavaliers starting unit.
Instead of opting to start fellow first round pick Tristan...
