The Cavaliers have signed forward Luke Harangody to a $1.1 million contract for next season. The team made a qualifying offer to the 24-year-old on June 30 and he signed it Wednesday. Harangody averaged 2.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 11 minutes in 21 games last season for Cleveland. He made one start for the Cavs, scoring 16 points with 10 rebounds and three steals at Washington on April 14. The 6-foot-8 former Notre Dame star made 16 starts for Cleveland's D-League affiliate in Canton. He averaged 19.4 points and 12.6 rebounds. Harangody was drafted in the second round by Boston in 2010. He was acquired the following year along with center Semih Erden for a second-round pick in 2013. The Cavs also announced they'll host Milwaukee in their exhibition opener on Oct. 9 in Canton.

Report: Cavs discussing sign and trade of Antawn Jamison

According to Marc J. Spears the Cleveland Cavaliers have had talks with the Nets about signing and trading Antawn Jamison. Spears also mentions that Golden State and Charlotte are in the mix too, whatever that might mean, exactly. Jamison went from being considered a piece of the puzzle to an awkward veteran personality on an obviously rebuilding team. If the reports are true, it...

Irving, Waiters, Thompson and Zeller Headline Cavs’ Summer League Roster

The Cleveland Cavaliers have assembled a summer league team of young veterans and free agents, including reigning 2011-12 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving, All-Rookie Second Team member Tristan Thompson and 2012 draft picks Dion Waiters (fourth overall) and Tyler Zeller (17thoverall), to participate in the 2012 NBA Summer League, Cavaliers General Manager Chris Grant announced...

Video: Kyrie Irving, Team USA Ankle-Breaker

He didn’t get invited to join the Olympic team this year, but Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving certainly made his presence felt during his stay in Las Vegas. The fun begins at about the 15-second mark. Do enjoy. Obviously, these sort of events do not come littered with defense, but Irving’s quickness and ability to seemingly bounce off of would-be defenders makes...

Colangelo: Kyrie Irving is “Advanced,” All But a Lock for 2016

Kyrie Irving is a player that literally you could move from one court to the other court. He’s that far advanced in terms of his talent, it appears. He’s made a good showing here. He had a terrific rookie season in the NBA and certainly he will be one of the leading candidates going forward. - Team USA managing director Jerry Colangelo referring to the two courts that delineate...

Cleveland Cavaliers’ Owner Dan Gilbert May Halt Another Blockbuster Trade

By: Dan Benton Last season, despite NBA commissioner David Stern stating otherwise, it was reported by many that the Cleveland Cavalier’s owner, Dan Gilbert, protested after there were reports of a trade sending Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers, resulting in the trade being canceled by the league office (Stern). It was believed that Gilbert [...]

Jamison weighs a return home to Charlotte

For once, the Bobcats might have a real home-court advantage. This one involves veteran forward Antawn Jamison, who grew up in Charlotte and still makes his offseason home there. Bobcats management has made a pitch to the 14-year veteran to finish out his NBA career in Charlotte. That's appealing to a guy who leaves four kids home each winter, moving to the NBA city where he...

Thank You Dan Gilbert For Not Allowing End To Justify Means

Although fooled from time to time, I usually consider myself a good judge of character, which is why I was pleased when I read the report  Tuesday afternoon from “Yahoo Sports,” which stated that according to their sources the Cleveland Cavaliers are no longer willing to take part in a four-team trade that would send Orlando Magic All-Star center Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn...

Wojnarowski: Cavaliers Out of the Dwight Howard Trade Situation

Much of the past couple days have been spent focusing on the potential 3-4 team trade to get Dwight Howard from Orlando to Brooklyn. The Cleveland Cavaliers were expected to be the 3rd team involved in the trade, looking to acquire Kris Humphries and a first round pick for their troubles. According to Yahoo!’s Adrian Wojnarowski, though, the Cavaliers are no longer involved in...

Grant keeps Cavs' business at home

You can have faith in Cavaliers general manager Chris Grant. There, I said it. And I mean it. I also write it as someone who initially thought the Cavs should have made the rumored trade for Kris Humphries -- especially for the low low price of Luke Walton. I write it as someone who wondered if an alien had taken over Grants brain when the Cavs drafted Dion Waiters fourth overall...

Cavaliers to Host Preseason Game in Canton

Helping bridge the gap between the NBA franchise and the D-League affiliate, the Cleveland Cavaliers will play host to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday, October 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the Canton Memorial Civic Center in a preseason contest. “This is an exciting situation for us to be able to bring a Cavaliers preseason game to Canton and continue to build and develop the deeper, long...

3 Winners of the NBA Draft : Eastern Conference

Cleveland: 4) Dion Waiters, SG; (17) Tyler Zeller, C You would never think that a player that didn’t start a game in college would be taken 4th overall in the NBA draft but Cleveland took Waiters. The Cavs really need help at the shooting guard position. Look at the players that played this position last year for the Cavs : Luke Walton and Anthony Parker to Mychal...

Sources: Cavs, Nets talk Jamison deal

The Cavaliers may have taken the blame for killing a potential Dwight Howard-to-the-Nets trade, but it doesnt appear as if the Nets are mad at them. According to several tweets from Yahoo Sports, the Cavs have had discussions about sending veteran forward Antawn Jamison to the Nets in a sign-and-trade transaction. Sources familiar with the talks confirmed the report with FOX Sports...
