Found November 18, 2013 on Jocks and Stiletto Jill:
The Cleveland Cavaliers had a players only meeting last week following a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. One of the topics allegedly brought up in the meeting was the play of Dion Waiters. Since that meeting, Waiters has developed some sort of mystery ailment and hasn’t been seen by the team. The meeting was intense – the Cavs played terrible and lost by 29 points – but two players who were in the room both privately said some of the speculation has been overblown and it wasn’t combative, nor was Dion Waiters a target of the meeting. The players weren’t very happy, but no specific player was singled out. … As for Waiters and this illness, Mike Brown said he has been to the doctor twice and has a prescription. I’ve heard whispers Waiters knew he was going to get demoted to the second team. Did he know that and make up this illness? Is he really sick? The only one who really knows the answer to that is Waiters. No one on the team has really seen or heard from Waiters since Wedne...

Something is missing, and it isn’t just Dion Waiters

Dion Waiters has gone missing. At least this is what the story has evolved into, grade school telephone style. The Cleveland Cavaliers are adamant that their second-year shooting guard is home sick, loading up with multiple illness-ridding prescriptions. The timing of Waiters’ absence—no tweets published, nary an Instagram upload—is a subject of scrutiny as it comes just...

Report: Dion Waiters has a mysterious illness that may be tied to his being removed from the starting lineup

The Cavaliers held a players only meeting earlier this week, after losing by 29 points to the Timberwolves which put them at just 3-7 through the team’s first 10 games. There were reports that the meeting turned contentious, and that players confronted one another about how things were playing out — none of which is a great sign less than three weeks into the regular season...

Waiters returns to Cavs practice, denies “players only” meeting getting physical

We men. Nobody got into no altercations or anything like that. We got everything off our chests that we needed to. That’s that. All the other rumors, man, are rumors—don’t believe it, it’s not true. We talked—everybody talked. Nobody put their hands on nobody. At the end of the day, we’re teammates. Like I said, I’d rather fight somebody else on the other team than...

Should the Cleveland Cavaliers Have Dion Waiters Come off the Bench?

The 2013-2014 season hasn’t exactly gotten off to the start the Cleveland Cavaliers and their fans expected, as the team sits at a 4-7 record heading into Wednesday night’s contest with the Washington Wizards. In fact, between the inability of the offense to get going and rumored fights in player only meetings, many are already calling for the firing (for the second time) of...

Will intense player meeting make or break the Cavs?

Player meetings are about as common in the NBA as pre-game shootaround. They may not occur as frequently, but when teams are struggling on the floor and showing an overall lack of chemistry, the “player meeting” is the go-to spot to air grievances and remains an attempt to bring the locker room together. At times, meetings can range from productive, to heated, to players...
