Tweet The Cleveland Cavaliers were dealt a blow to their chances of making the playoffs when All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving went down early in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers with a biceps injury. Irving suffered the injury in a collision with Clippers forward Blake Griffin and the injury is reportedly severe enough that it could sideline Irving for the Cavs remaining 15 games. Irving left the arena with him arm in a sling and is scheduled to undergo a MRI Monday. Irving had only missed three games and has appeared in a career-high 64 games this season after failing to play more than 59 games in each of the past two seasons. He was leading the Cavaliers in scoring (21.2) and assists (6.2) and was voted by fans as a starter for the All-Star game, where he was named MVP. The Cavs are currently 26-41 and are 4.5 games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the East’s eighth and final playoff spot. There is a chance that Irving could return if the Cavaliers reach the postseason, but there chances of getting there without him are slim. -ALR
