Following along on Twitter last night I realized why the Cavaliers hadn't put any of their preseason games on television yet. Or at least maybe why they hadn't.The preseason Cavaliers product isn't all that much to get excited about. Collectively, they looked real awful in Philadelphia. The impression that Cavs fans went away with after their first real chance to see what this year's group might look like wasn't awesome. It is the preseason though. Luke Harangody didn't even play. Right, deep breath, things will get better.Just not so much better that you'll be watching a playoff game in Cleveland this season. That's my assesment at this point, subject to change and back-dated editing of course. Unless the stars align and Kyrie Irving can max out (no Pepsi pun intended) on his potential while Tristan Thompson, Tyler Zeller and Dion Waiters all do the same.Chill out on Waiters for right now too. He didn't look good in his 27 minutes of work last ni...

With the Cleveland Cavaliers closing in on the start of the 2012-13 regular season, it appears that head coach Byron Scott has settled on his starting five.
Bob Finnan of the News-Herald reports ((I’d link to it if he hadn’t used Sulia to disseminate the story on Twitter.)) that Scott has previously stated his desire to settle on a starting five-man unit as the preseason winded...

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- To no ones surprise, the Cavaliers have exercised the third-year options on point guard Kyrie Irving and power Tristan Thompson, general manager Chris Grant said Friday.
Both players are entering their second seasons. Irving, the reigning NBA rookie of the year, averaged 18.5 points on 47 shooting last season. He also passed for 5.4 assists in 30.5 minutes...
OK, so the Cavaliers have issues.
Anyone who suspected such might not be the case was living in an NBA fantasyland.
In Wednesdays 113-99 loss to Philadelphia, the Cavs revealed what we should have known all along: Theyre extremely young, lost one of their top two leading scorers from last season, and are still learning the finer points of the pro game.
That last point was especially...
The English call it "taking
the piss." In the U.S.,
we refer to it as "goofing." Wherever you hail from, Grantland writer Wesley Morris had some fun with the Cavaliers' new alternate uniforms, an eye-searing yellow-and-red
concoction that remind Morris of hot dog garnish. While Kyrie Irving and Co.
may be a longshot for the post-season this year, Morris...
Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson were lottery picks by the Cavaliers in the 2011 NBA Draft.
As I’ve been doing for years, The Boots are my way to assign Boot Up or Boot Downs to various items in the sports world. As a reminder, I got the nickname “Boot” from my older brothers when I was young, and thus, I continue to use this segment as my personal sports writing payback.
Boot Up: Optimism for the Future – The Cavaliers are going to be a much-improved team in 2012...
We close out our previews of the Central Division by asking the Crossover Chronicles writers their thoughts on the big questions in the Central Division.
1. What impact will Dion Waiters have for Kyrie Irving's development?
Jeff Garcia: The addition of Waiters will take off some offensive pressure off Irving's shoulders. This will allow Irving to work on other aspects...
