Boston is aggressively working to move up into the late lottery, if not higher, league sources tell Y!. Celtics own No. 21 and 22 picks. — Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) June 28, 2012 I wonder who Danny is after. He has one more trade chip to play with after being given the Bobcats 2013 2nd round pick due to the OKC Thunder not disclosing Green's heart issues. "Late lottery" means something like pick #12, #13, or #14, which Ainge has previously said he couldn't move up with by just exchanging pick #21 and #22, so is Ainge offering a player? Who is their to offer (that's under contract)? Rondo and Bradley are really the only two with any value.

Boston Celtics select Jared Sullinger, Fab Melo

I absolutely love Jared Sullinger at the 21st pick, back problems be damned — almost as much as I loathe Fab “El Busto” Melo. I emailed a group of friends earlier this morning to say that if Melo becomes a productive pro, I’ll tattoo a profile of Kobe Bryant’s face on my chest and write a love letter to Rick Pitino. But Sullinger? He would have been a top 5 selection last...

Discussing Josh Smith and the Boston Celtics again

There is a chance that Josh Smith and Kevin Garnett could be Celtics teammates come next season What made the Boston Celtics great in 2012 is that when they entered the post-season they knew exactly what they were as a basketball team. They were a primarily jump-shooting team that played their asses off on the defensive side of the court and were at their best when Rajon Rondo was...

Celtics Draft Pick Must Balance Need to Get Younger While Keeping Ability to Win Now

When Danny Ainge and the Celtics finally pull the trigger on making a draft pick during Thursday night's draft -- wherever that may be -- the team will be making a big step in a new direction. With the future of key pieces like Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen in doubt, the Celtics have to get younger. But they can't also sacrifice the willingness to compete now, before the team...

Mickael Pietrus Focused on Signing With Celtics, Rehabbing Surgically Repaired Right Knee

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Mickael Pietrus watched LeBron James and the Miami Heat cruise to victory in five games over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals, but the free agent swingman never stopped to wonder, "What if?"
