Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce is not expected to play in Tuesday's game against Miami Heat. Pierce sat out Sunday's season opener against the New York Knicks due to a bruised heel suffered in the team's first practice. The team is expected to be cautious with Pierce, who averaged 18.9 points and 5.4 rebounds last season. Celtics coach Doc Rivers said recently signed forward Mickael Pietrus is not expected to play for 10 days. Pietrus was signed by the Celtics on Saturday following his release by the Phoenix Suns. He is recovering from offseason knee surgery.

Taking some positives out of an 0-2 start

So the Celtics are 0-2.  It's the first time Kevin Garnett has been on a Celtics team with a losing record.  But ti's too early to panic, or even read TOO much into things.  In fact, there are some positives to take out of this.  And as this site's eternal optimist, it's my duty to highlight those.  1: We still haven't seen Paul Pierce, and that matters...

Comments From the Other Side - Hornets 12/28

Hornets fans aren't quite as obnoxious as Heat or Knick fans but they hate on the Celtics just like everyone else. The theme seems to be that the Celtics are old and nothing the Celtics have done seems to disprove that. I think it's more of a chemistry problem right now because of lack of training camp and because of injuries. Hopefully the Celtics win Friday or...

Comments From the Other Side - Heat 12/27

As always, the comments are not quite as much fun when we lose, but there are some fun ones. It's interesting when the Heat fans are mentioning how many bad calls are going against the Celtics. That's when you know the officiating is REALLY bad.  Enjoy today's comments in spite of the loss... Time to beat these Boston crumb-bums into the retirement home. We need...

Lebron and Wade score 50 to prevent the Celtics their first win

The second game of the lockout season is against the defending eastern conference champions the Miami Heat.  Paul Pierce will miss his second straight game due to a bruised bone in his heel.  Sasha Pavlovic will start along side of Rondo, Allen, Garnett and Jermaine.  I expect Doc to use all 13 dressed players today as both these teams play a physical defensive style causing...
