The Celtics ground out their second win of the season to get to .500 as they beat the Wizards 100-94 at home in overtime. Five Celtics were in double figures and the bench finally came through for the Celtics in the win. The game went back and forth throughout with 13 ties and 14 lead changes. The Celtics built an 11 point lead at one point while the Wizards biggest lead was 7.
Rajon Rondo continued his streak of games with double digit assists to 28 games. He also had 18 points on 7-11 shooting along with 4 rebounds and 3 steals. He missed a 3 that would have won the game for the Celtics at the end of regulation but hit a couple of big jumpers in the game and his shot is looking very good this season. He is shooting with confidence and hitting them.

Be Still My Heart: Rondo Teaching Algebra
Teaching freshman algebra with Ms. Oshodi at Burke high school this AM. Thx for having me twitter.com/RajonRondo/sta…
— Rajon Rondo (@RajonRondo) November 6, 2012
Now this has made my day. Scratch that. It made my week. No, it probably made my year! I posted today about how excited I was, as a math teacher, to see Jared Sullinger's dad Satch using math in explaining...
Rajon Rondo Teaches Some Algebra Just Because
Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics Tweeted out a picture of himself teaching a high school freshman class of Algebra on Tuesday morning and the reasons why he was doing so are not entirely clear. It is well noted that Rondo was one of the smartest kids in his high school classes, so maybe he wanted to re-visit the glory days? Maybe he was just bored and wanted to get some practice...
Kevin Garnett on consistency: Celtics are either "hard as sh#t to beat" or "trash"
In Kevin Garnett's post-practice interview today, he addressed the Celtics' consistency issues from the first few games of the season.
From WEEI's Ben Rohrbach:
The Boston Celtics hosted their first open practice of the regular
season in Waltham on Tuesday, and Kevin Garnett sent a clear message to
his new teammates: Buy into the Celtics system of practicing how...
Celtics Trail 42-37 at the Half Despite KG’s 10 Rebounds
In a game devoid of cohesive and consistent offense, the Celtics trail 42-37 at the half. Kevin Garnett has seven points and 10 boards while Rajon Rondo has eight points and five assists. Rondo, who is halfway to his 28th straight double-digit assist game, has been as creative as ever tonight with several dazzling behind-the-back [...]
Kevin Garnett discusses chemistry, says something about disliking Comcast and not being able to fast-forward
Add this one to the Kevin Garnett metaphors pantheon:“You can’t speed chemistry up,” said KG. “I think the more practice, the more you get familiar with each other. There’s no hit the fast forward button here. You’ve got Comcast. Some shows you can’t fast forward through. You’ve just got to let it go through and watch the silly ass commercials and be pissed, right...
KG's Interviews are Priceless
Kevin Garnett has given us much enjoyment with his post game interviews. We have heard rants about how he can shoot threes and how he's not old. We've heard analogies about making tortillas and casseroles. Whatever he comes up with, it's always fun. But, when even KG calls an interview weird, you know it's going to be fun. Here is a transcript from Green Street...
Kevin Garnett’s Practice Habits Spur Celtics Teammates to Greater Emphasis on Preparation
WALTHAM, Mass. — After more than 45,000 minutes played and some 24,000 points scored, Kevin Garnett has gotten the hang of this professional basketball thing.
But as the surefire future Hall of Famer embarks on his 18th NBA season, he is the subject of constant monitoring, probably even more so than he was as a teenager in 1995. Back then, after all, nobody knew what to expect...
Your Morning Dump… Where the Garnett/Sullinger ticket is a winning one
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“I thought he did a great job,” Garnett said of Sullinger’s first start during the Celtics [team stats]’ win in Washington last Saturday. “He’s a no-nonsense guy. Not that I’m shooting down the other...
Paul Pierce throws nice behind-the-head pass to Kevin Garnett (Video)
I'm still trying to figure out how Boston Celtics guard Paul Pierce was able to thread this pass to Kevin Garnett against the Washington Wizards.
Maybe, he has eyes in the back of his head:
KG compares Sullinger to Perkins
Kevin Garnett says Jared Sullinger reminds him of Kendrick Perkins when it comes to basketball IQ and unselfishness.
— Boston Celtics (@celtics) November 6, 2012
Obviously a pretty big compliment by the Big Ticket. KG has been searching for a partner in crime down low since Perkins was traded. Shaq couldn't get back on the court due to his foot. J.O. needed to be wrapped...

Doc Rivers Post Game Conference: 76ers 106-100 Celtics
After losing to the 76ers 106-100, Doc Rivers spoke about how the Celtics must figure out a way to play without Kevin Garnett, the importance of Chris Wilcox and what he thinks about starting line-ups.
Boston Celtics: To Worry Or Not To Worry?
Doc has a lot of toys to play with, but which should he use and when?
The Boston Celtics are off to a lackluster 1-2 start. Coming into the season, there was much hype surrounding the Green Team following their headline acquisitions (and one headline departure), but fans and the team, for that matter, are learning that it will take some hard work.
Doc Rivers has been down this road...
