Despite being limited to veteran’s minimum offers, the Boston Celtics are reportedly still involved in discussions with free agent rebounder Reggie Evans. (Boston Globe)The Celtics remain in the running for free-agent forward Reggie Evans but they only have the veteran minimum to offer. Evans is seeking a multiyear deal.I hate being realistic, but the veteran’s minimum probably won’t be enough to lure Evans to Boston. In fact, after Kwame Brown signed for $7 million yesterday to establish the market, the Celtics are going to be hard-pressed to find any big man using just the veteran’s minimum. In the most likely scenario, Kevin Garnett will play more center than ever before, Brandon Bass and Chris Wilcox will slide into the pivot position every once in a while and Jermaine O’Neal will man the middle whenever he’s physically able to play (don’t hold your breath). Meet the 2011-2012 Boston Celtics: Chris Wilcox

I have to admit, even I had to find out who Chris Wilcox is. It’s not like he hasn’t been around the league or anything, but for the life of me I just couldn’t remember who he is. After a little investigation, I present to you another one of the newest Celtics acquistions.     [...]

Is Rajon Rondo’s temper causing Celtics dischord?

Over the course of the NBA lockout– and the protracted off-season that resulted from it– Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo was the target of more than a few trade rumors. It was clear that Boston was content in looking to shop Rondo around for the best possible offer in return. What wasn’t as clear was why the Celtics were willing to shop a player may consider...

Jeff Green misses practice again

Via the Boston Herald:Jeff Green is apparently still waiting for a sign from the Celtics medical staff before he starts practicing with his team. The Celtics forward, whose physical revealed unspecified problems that Green writes off to fatigue, watched today’s practice from the sideline – a location he has occupied since signing a one-year contract with the Celtics last Saturday...

Paul Pierce Talks About Why He Stayed

CSNNE.coms Jessica Camerato ran a great piece today touching upon Paul Pierce and his decision to stay with the Boston Celtics after their dreadful 2006-2007 season which included a 33 game losing streak.  Some excerpts from the piece:   On the 2006-2007 season and the issues the team had: “It was definitely the most turmoil [...]

Jeff Green was dealing with fatigue

As pointed out on Monday, Jeff Green hasn't been practicing since his signing due to an unknown issue regarding his physical. Since the team didn't want to discuss it, thoughts immediately went to some of the worst possible ideas such as a heart issue or something internal. All of that can now be put to bed, thanks to Gary Washburn.Jeff Green said docs were wary...

Jeff Green still being held out, no explanation from the Celtics

I fell for it. Again. I don't know how this happened. I don't know why I wasn't more cautious. I'll blame the lockout hangover for this one. I believed the Celtics and took their injury explanation for Jeff Green at face value. I know. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I actually believed Danny Ainge when he said that it was pretty much nothing and...

Jeff Green situation is a "big concern"

Jeff Green missed another practice today. According to the Globe's Gary Washburn, Doc Rivers believes the situation is a big concern. It didn't appear to be a big deal yesterday when Green said that he does not have a heart condition and speculated fatigue was to blame. Danny Ainge said the Celtics were just being overly cautious.  Could it be mono?

Pierce is passing the torch to Rondo

Paul Pierce has been heaping praise on Rajon Rondo all day long. First at the Media Day appearances and later on WEEI. The Truth wants everyone to know this is Rondo's team. It's clearly a tactical approach to instill confidence in the young point guard.

Kevin Garnett Compares Team-Building to Cooking in Head-Scratching Analogy at Celtics Media Day

Kevin Garnett is an awesome quote. We've come to learn that over the course of his Boston career, a tenure that will enter its fifth season this year. Garnett hasn't missed a beat, as he offered an interesting analogy on Tuesday when talking about the effect the lockout has on teams' ability to build chemistry. Check it out in the video above.

Your Morning Dump... Where Rondo's all grow'd up (Part 2)

AP via Daylife.com Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. If Rondo is sincere when he acknowledges his need to change and grow, then the teams that have shied away from him in trade talks will feel like genuine fools in the coming years. But...

QuickVid: Stephen A. Smith defends Kevin Garnett, calls Pierce ‘aloof’

I was disgusted when I heard the out-burst of Stephen A. Smith were returning to ESPN. However, he does seem to get the recent comments of Kevin Garnett, regarding the shortened NBA-everything. I returned to my disgust of Stephen A. as soon as he described Paul Pierce as a different man and  aloof since winning [...]
