Hornets 87, Celtics 86
The first game of the Celtics road trip ended in defeat when Anthony Davis tipped in an Eric Gordon miss to give the Hornets (23-46) a one point victory on Wednesday night. It was a muddled contest in which both sides squandered leads, but the C’s took control with a 10-0 run late in the fourth quarter. Paul Pierce was huge down the stretch, scoring seven of his 28 points in a two-minute span as Boston regained the lead. However, after Pierce failed to hit a shot that would have stretched the Celts lead to three, the Hornets were able to wind down the clock and win it on the final shot.
This wasn’t a game that the C’s deserved to win, but that. Their offense was anemic throughout most of the second half, as they scored a total of 12 points in the third quarter, and went nearly five minutes without connecting on a field goal. They blew a 13-point lead, a 10-point halftime advantage, and eventually fell behind by nine points before a Pierce-led run gave them a ...

If Anthony Davis‘ unibrow didn’t inspire fear before, now it should.

Anthony Davis tipped in a Eric Gordon miss with 0.3 seconds left in the 4th quarter of Wednesday night’s home game against the Boston Celtics to give the Hornets the victory:
Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are now 15th and 20th on the all time NBA scoring list. Watching KG's video, the cold case of the missing magazine pictures from barber shops and convenience stores in South Carolina back in the 80's appears to have been solved as well.
Paul Pierce is famously difficult to move off his spot, whether he’s playing defense or creating space to get a shot up for himself. But at least one defender has found a way to turn Pierce’s positioning in his favor.
Shane Battier iced Miami’s 105-103 victory over the Celtics with a clever inbounds play Monday night. Looking to get the ball in, he saw Pierce’s trenchant...
Adna is a 20-year old Boston Celtics fan from St. Cloud, Minnesota. I’ve been interacting with her on Twitter for roughly a year, and she is all Celtics, all the time. I asked her a few questions, including just what got her into following the Celtics:
I became a Celtics fan in 2001 when I was 9 years old. My aunt lived in Boston and she came to visit my family in Minnesota. When...

Coming off a emotional game again the Miami Heat the Celtics moved on to a three game road trip starting in New Orleans against the Hornets. The Celtics got back their veteran center Kevin Garnett who returned from a leg injury and flu symptoms. The Hornet's Anthony Davis was also battling flu like symptoms but managed to play in the game and in the end was the difference maker...
The fans posting on the Hornets' boards have become very few, but I guess you can't blame them. It's pretty funny to see fans who are set on tanking and getting the best draft pick suddenly want to win just because it's the Celtics. The Celtics should not have lost this game. They pretty much beat themselves. There is something very wrong when the bench...
The Boston Celtics-Miami Heat matchup had it all.
One team came in boasting a historical winning streak, while the other continued to defy the odds with every passing week.
One team sat atop the Eastern Conference, while the other was busy fighting and clawing its way up the standings.
One team featured arguably the best player in the NBA right now, while the other featured a former...
What a mess. After a strong first half the Celtics fell apart in the third quarter, getting outscored 22-12 and fumbling away a 10 point halftime lead. The Celtics were able to rally, but Anthony Davis scored off a tip-in with 0.3 seconds remaining and the Celtics weren’t able to get off a shot before the final buzzer sounded. Honestly that game was disgusting so lets try to get...
