David Aldridge of NBA.com reports that the Boston Celtics will sign free-agent foward David West. West who was drafted by New Orleans in 2003 and has been with the Hornest ever since  has been coveted via trade by a number of teams for several seasons now. Now he will come to the Celtics without having to give up anything in return, other than a 3-year $27-$28 million contract according to Yahoo Sports. The Celtics don’t get younger with the move but they do add talent in the front court by signing the 31-year old who has been selected to two All-Star games. Over his career West has averaged 16.4 and 7.3 rebounds per game. The signing comes with significant risk that a team like Boston-aiming for a few more go arounds at an NBA title can afford to take. West is coming off a torn ACL suffered late last season. Via Source: Celtics close to deal with All-Star big man West | NBA.com.
