Last night the Wells Fargo Center was electric as one of the NBA's greatest rivalries returned to Philadelphia...unfortunately it didn't end well.  The Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76ers and the home crowd, 107-91.  The Celtics put a beating on the 76ers for most of the game, and now have a 2-1 series lead.  The Sixers came out strong as they held a 33-28 lead after the first quarter, but the rest of the game was pretty bad.

Here are some statistics from Game 3:

  • Thaddeus Young led the 76ers in points with 22.  Thad also grabbed 5 rebounds, and was one of the "better" players for Philadelphia.
  • Kevin Garnett posted 27 points, and the Sixers just couldn't find an answer for him.  KG also had 13 rebounds and 4 assists.
  • Paul Pierce was second on the Celtics in scoring with 24 points.  Pierce, who is nursing a sprained MCL in his left knee, also had 12 rebounds and 4 assists.
  • Rajon Rondo led the Celtics with 14 assists.  Rondo was not far behind Paul Pierce in points as he had 23 points.
  • Jrue Holiday had 15 points, while Lou Williams and Jodie Meeks each had 13 points.

"We've got to take it, learn from it and try to respond in Game 4."- Andre Iguodala, who registered just 10 points in game 3.

Game 4 is on Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center as the 76ers will look to tie the series.  Friday's game will be on at 8:00 on ESPN, and 97.5 the Fanatic.
